Are washers needed when attaching the cowl or H-stab? I used the rubber washers, but wasnt sure if small washers would be needed too.

Should hopefully be maidening it this week or next. Gotta double check all my bolts are tight, check the CG again and do some radio setup. The custom graphics are from B&E, was going to use the stock ones but decided I just wasn't happy with their size. It's been a looooong road with this plane, I hope it's worth it in the air!

Use the washers... It spreads the load out. But I guess you don't have to if the rubbers are big an good enough...
BEAUTIFUL looking bird!!

Can anyone confirm the CG should be around 5"? I saw several different numbers floating around the thread. Mine was around 4, so had to move my batteries back by the rudder servo...now its around 5".

Maiden planned for tonight! Wish me luck!!

How was the maiden? I maidened mine 3 weeks ago after buying it from Hobby King 2 years ago.
I flew electric and set the CG at 1" in front of the centre of the wing rod with a little nose heavy.
I had 2 flights so far. It flew very well and landed quite slow without any issue. AUW with electric power system is 17.5 lb.

Overall, it went well. Somehow despite my preflights, my rudder was reversed, which thankfully wasnt needed much. The tailwheel tiller arm rod is too soft, so didn't want to hold heading once rolling. Noticed a bit of side-slipping in flight, which I was able to mostly trim out with rudder. Its possible my wheelpants are ever so slightly off. I measured them, but no way to know exactly. Too bad there wasnt some alignment mark or tool to use for that.
Anyways, the 2 flights that night went fine. Engine ran good and trims werent far off. CG may be a little too nose heavy, but not too bad. It didnt go quite as fast as I expected full throttle, but a simple prop change might help that. Vertical was unlimited.
