Lanier Stinger 120 ARF two-piece wing?

My Feedback: (21)
I have a Stinger 120 ARF and would like to make the wing a two-piece so I can pack it easier in my truck. Has anyone done this and is it even feasable to attempt? I do not know if I should try to use a wing tube or use the included brace and try to bolt it together.
I do not do a lot of really hard aerobatics, but I do like snaps every once in a while. I am thinking about a DLE 30cc or PTE 36R for this plane.
Any advice and help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rick... I'm currently assembling an Ultra Stick Lite which probably has a similar situation using a hardwood joiner spar for a single piece wing. I've concluded that the joiner must be glued otherwise the stress would simply lever apart the spars and of course fail. Short of doing some significant wing surgery... I've discounted the idea of a two piece wing.

If the construction is similar to mine... it has lite ply webs each side of the spars for abt 5-6 inches... at the minimum I'd think the covering would have to come off both sides in that area and the lite ply webs removed and traded for AC ply and epoxy with pin *****s in the side of the spars and new webs to insure 'nailing' the ply to the spars.

I agree that it will be major surgery, but at this time, I do not have a means to carry the 80" wing in one piece unless I construct a case to strap on top of the bed of my truck. Thanks for the response.
