RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
Its not out of the airstream. its just where the air normal exits the cowl on an air cooled model. I.e. goes in the front of the cowl and comes out there.

Do you think the radiator, positioned out of the airstream, is going to conduct heat away from your coolant?

I hope your idea works. I like the novelty, but every liquid cooled engine on every plane and car I have ever seen had the radiator directly facing the airstream. Unless forced by a fan, I doubt that enough air will pass thru to offer any effective result. Please don't take this as a deterrent, I just want to express my concerns. Best regards in any case.

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
That is one cool looking setup. Hope to hear more on this water cooled motor.
My revolver is at a stand still until I can get the last few items needed. I got the wrong size fuel line and still waiting for the ingition regulator to arrive in the mail. So with idle time I got all my Revolvers out for a photo shoot today. And also took a photo of the landing gear reinforcement I did on the Revolver 50cc.
Here are the pics.
The R59 is electric, R70 is Nitro, second R70 is a DLE 20cc, and the fourth is the new 50cc.

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
really not, I use tripple rates and can roll almost twice per second. I can do most every manuver you can think of and even do waterfalls. 3d flying is a little difficult but not impossible. I can even do a knife edge loop!

was a poor attempt at a joke - no wings/ailerons-> no roll
I agree, these plane are quite spirited performers when they are well set up.

I remember reading about that MVVS motor in a L/C engine thread a while back; looks like a cool setup! Is that pulley for the water pump?

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
m_gutzmer - NICE picture of your Revolvers! Funny - it kind of reminds me of "The Three Bears" story. Though, if the Rev 70 is the mommy bear (and there's TWO of them) then Rev 90 is a polygamist. Which is FINE, if they live in Utah. Which would also give them nice, open airfields...

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
I like them all, but I tend to fly my favorite flavor of the day which is the R70 with the 20cc. This is the perfect motor match. The little extra weight doesn't seem to change anything, it still floats. The little R59 is the fastest and a little scary. With an 80 Amp controller and 6 cells it will do 130 easy!
But now im thinking this new R50cc will be my new favorite.
Today I was able to install the fuel system. But my IBE is in the mail and not arrived yet. If it doesnt arrive soon I will just install an old regulator and kill switch to get it flying this weekend. I only have to give it a once over and check the throw rates. Which is almost a done deal since I just copied them over from the R70.
Today with nothing else to do I also wet sanded the spinner and put two more coats on it. Much better finish now. I hope the ballance is not off.
Later this week I will run the engine before going out to the field just to make sure there are no first time start up suprises.

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
The R59 electric is an E-flight 46, 80 amp controller and either a 5 or 6 cell Lipo. The R70 has a DLE 20cc with a 16x8 prop. I moved the rudder servo furtther back and made it a pull pull system. Raised the elevator servo on 1/4 stock. This and an extra ingintion battery all compensated for the heavier motor up front. The other R70 is an OS 61.
On the R70 DLE 20cc I also reinforced the motor box with tri stock and pinned as many of the places I could. Also the landing gear block is reinforced as I do all my Revolvers. Lesson learned with previous Revolvers with torn out landing gear.

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
The choke is reached from underneath with my thumb. No problems with the servo at all. Now on the Revolver 50cc I used a bellcrank with a pull knobe from a great planes switch. I will take a photo today and post that.
It's a shame, I have the week off at home but I am just waiting for stuff to arrive in the mail to finish the R 50cc.

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
Who has flown one of these? Did Great Planes improve the landing gear on the 50cc version? I have had both of the smaller versions and the landing gear was very weak on them both.
