Hello, I posted this question in the kit forum, and another member suggested I put it here in the arf forum,, Ihave a nitroplanes ultimate 50cc and am putting a DLE-55 in it but have a few questions about exactly where to drill and mount the engine. But to be honest I am not sure of where to drill the holes, as compared to what is layed out on this firewall. The vertical line on the firewall is not centered at all, the hole in it is centered side to side, but is higher on the firewall. I am kinda confused, this is the first Kit I have built from the start, I know there is a template for the dle-55 I seen it online, do I print it out and completely center it on the firewall and drill,, do I use the hole as a reference, Is that centerline on the firewall important?, is it off center for a reason, or a screw up at the factory, In the one pic you can see that the firewall appears to have the right thrust already built in to it,,
DO I need to try and test fit the engine, and put the cowl on to try and locate where the holes go,, I just want to be sure before I drill these holes,, Thanks for any clarity you can give me on this matter

Match the center line of the template with the center lines on your firewall, yours is compinsated fo right thrust, so the drive washer of the engine ends up centered in the opening in the front of your cowl. you can check this by taping the engine mounting template to the firewall, bolt the engine to the standoff's, and holding the fuss verticle, set it on top of the firewall, with the standoff's centered on the mount hole locations on the template, then fit your cowl (leave the muffler off for now to eliminate interfearance) Everything should line up.

the firewall is angled for thrust correction.
the engine will be off to one side and slightly higher
The firewall has side and downtrust built in
The holes should be drilled as marked or in the pattern of your engine, close to the layout per pic.
Its mounted offset but the hub of the engine will be close to the center of your cowl front opening once the cowl is mounted. its best to trial fit everything. If the holes dont work out, get a hardwood dowel and drill/fill the mistake, and startover.
Spend the time here to get it lined up
