Phoenix Models doesn't seem to put much engineering effort into their wheel pants/skirts/or spats. My Waco has issues in the same areas. On the other hand, they are a good value and fly well.

They must make slightly different versions. Mine doesn’t have that wood ring to mount the cowl. It has 6 plastic bent arms that epoxy into the edges of the area around the firewall.
