Default Goldberg Decathlon

This plane is on my personal "Wish List". Could a few owners please post the actual weight of their airplane and what engine they chose?

Thanks,

Can't tell you the weight, but I fly mine with a Saito 100. Plenty of power.

Frank,
a guy at our field was flying one with a OS 90 2 stroke in it, and it had very good performance. Very nice quality finish too. Never got to fly it myself, but it looked like it was capable of quite some stuff. Have been eyeballing the CG Decathlon myself, but it will need to wait a while until other projects are finished first.

I think the weight is 9.5lbs. It will fly with a .91 4 stroke. The Goldberg web site may have more info. If not I could look it up later tonight.

I usually prefer not to put too much faith in factory specs, until they are backed by real pilots with their planes on a scale. I feel safer that way. Factory specs are sometimes no more than wishful thinking.

If they are really 9 to 10 pounds, then it is in the running for Christmas. I've got a YS 91 FZ that may be looking for a home.

Thanks for the input guys.

Anybody have one more than 10 pounds?

I saw one fly with a Saito 120 this weekend, And the guy told me that he needed the weight up front and thats why he used the bigger engine.Ive got a 91 FZ also looking for a home.
