I got this the other day, and finally got it done today, other than making sure the wings are balanced correctly. I have a saito 91 on it and used those Du bro control horns that have the metal screw all the way through the wood. They appear to be very stable. More than the original plastic ones, but I have those on all my others and have had no problem as of yet thank the Lord. (the originals) It balanced from front to rear almost perfectly. I took one 1/4 ounce lead square and had to trim about an 1/8 off of it. I aint gonna put the wheel pants on it until I know I can fly and land it successfully. I have been flying the Super Sportster, & Extra 300 for a while now so I hope and pray that I will have no problem with this one. I have been practicing on the G2 simulator with this plane and so far so good. I just bounce a bit. Any pointers from any of you that have this particular plane?

Mine won't be delivered till this Friday, but I have flown one on Realflight a little. On the Sim I discovered that the Shoestring will enter a flat spin very easily, and is one of the few planes that will not self-recover by neutralizing the controls. You have to use opposite rudder and add some throttle just like an R/C model or real plane sometimes. Looks like the later versions of planes on G2 are getting more realistic

This is a super airplane. Flies like a dream. Very fast with an OS 91 Surpass 2. Slows nicely, but still lands fairly quick. I flew mine all last season and I always made main gear landings. You'll get tons on compliments about this plane.

I've had mine a year with a ST G90 on it. Nice plane. Don't "coast" it on in like trainers or stiks because it will stall on landing. Keep a little speed on it. I am also a big fan of Kavan wheels. if your on any typed of asphalt runway, they eliminate wheel hopping when the plane slides sideways if you run out of runway. Wheel hopping can knock the crap out of any plane. I installed a glow driver on mine for the heck of it.
Funny thing is I got this plane free from GP last year as a replacement for another that crashed froma defect. I had seen it around and thought it was the dumbest thing i ever saw and wouldn't waste my money on it. Now I would recommend it to anyone.[X(]

Howdy all,
I finally got up the nerve and did some heavy prayin and got my Shoestring in the air. WOW! This thing is a really great plane. I was scared to fly it. For one reason is that it is so nice of a looking plane and I dont want to screw it up. Another I hadnt flown a plane of this sort, so I thought. It flys and lands as good as my Super Sportster 40. It didnt take much to take off of the ground either. It was aligned almost perfectly. I didnt have to put in any aileron or rudder trim whatsoever. A first for me I might add. But I had the elevator way to up and didnt realize it becouse I thought it was level. I will fix it instead of subtriming it to 100 like I had to do. This plane flys like it is on rails. It, in my experiance, glided in smoothly like my sportster and reacted great. I wished I had this earlier. Anyway, you all that havent had yours up yet, you are in for a real treat. I do however need to work on my saito, I think it needs its valves adjusted. It seems to have less power than it did.
