Default Comparable Bipes to DP Ultimate?

OK, DP is getting on my bad side. I might end up regretting it, but I'm considering cancelling my order and looking for a comparable ARF biplane. Here's what I need:

1. A biplane to hang my 1.60FX on that is light. 13 pounds or so would be great.
2. I like to practice IMAC manuvers, as well as 3D.
3. It has to look good.
4. Good customer service.

I might consider an Extra/Edge/Katana if there are no acceptable bipes out there.

Thanks for your opinions.

I hear ya on DP! I'm still waiting too. Too many excuses. The Carl Goldburg is relatively close(not the big one!). Its a great flyer and Ive seen them 3D on a YS-91 and a YS-120. CG was moved back about 3". Otherwise there are not that many more choices for an Ultimate ARF. World Models Ultimate is pretty good as far as construction but I have'nt seen one fly. After looking at Dave's Ultimate I might just have to suck it up and wait!!! It was a thing of beauty(construction and covering!!). I pulled one out of the box and the covering was tight. But..... he did'nt have the purple one at the show. So now I wait.....

Did you see the yellow one? What was the bottom like? That was the one I ordered.

I have a friend with the purple one. It looks great on the ground, but in the air, when the sun hits it . . . WOW. Gorgeous.

Thumb,
There are none... I have had a few ARFs and there are none that I have seen that compair with the DP in quality. I have the purple one and when it got here my jaw simply dropped. It was perfect! I literally couldn't find a flaw in either the covering or the paint. All joints were glued great. As I said earlier I have had several ARFs and have seen many more but NONE that I have not been able to find some flaw in, however minor. This was the first... I forgot the best part, it flys like a dream. I have had great response from Dave and Sandy in my dealings with them.

I'm so torn about this. Usually I'm willing to pay more for an item if I know that I'm going to get better service from the more expensive company. I'm pretty stringint about this, to the point that I'm sometimes willing to accept an inferior item if the payoff is that the company makes an effort.

I've flown my buddys Dingo powered ulty, and I agree that it is the best plane that I've ever flown.

I've decided to sit and wait. If the Extreme Flight 68" Yak 54 comes available before DP shipps my ulty, I'm going to cancell my order and get the EF plane.

Frank,

Nothing is like a DP ultimate. Believe me. I have 10 ARF in my hangar (See my site) and nothing can top DP for the quality. My D.P Ultimate is simply flawless. D.P Customer service
is another affair...I waited 6 month to get my ultimate so consider yourself very lucky if you wait 2 months.

Good luck!

Frank;
The bottom of the bird is yellow also! Its fairly close to the looks of the Extra. The pearl yellow is awesome but The purple and pearl white one is "bit--en".
Oh, and I also have a Extreme 78" YAK-54 on order!!!! love the looks of that plane after I saw QS's at TOC.

It's ok, get both

I might as well get both. My wife can only kill me once!
