Sorry to drag up this old thread, i just bought a Pacific Aero 82" Y and have also bought the Robart oleos to go with it. Did you guys bend up a new piece of wire to bolt into the wing and provide the stub for the Robart leg to fix too or did you cut the original kit legs to give you that part?

I still drive my GeeBee.
It is a first-generation model with a rigid train. Since this one is not strong enough, I made a New train with 3/16 piano wire.
In order to mitigate the bounce during landing, i am replaced the wheels with 5-inch inflatable DU-BRO wheels. With 4 psi of air in the tires, it works very well.
My GeeBee is equipped with a Saito FA-170R3 engine with a CH Ignitions. He is still one of my favorite planes to fly.
