Aaaaaaaaaah ... you finally appear! I only use the calculations to get a mere idea of how the plane might be like. It is an indication only and that perhaps prepares a person mentally. Of couse it all boils down to the skills. Like Ah Wee, he can fly anything and does not care about the wing loadings! I am thinking of having a TT .46 in mine, with 15% - 25% nitro there will be ample power. Also, that means I can throw a slightly bigger prop for more torque.
I fly at Sg Buloh ... mainly in the mornings on weekedays (almost everyday), got less people la. I also fly on Saturday mornings. I don't on Sunday because there are too many people and I don't need to take up more space in such a tight place! If you want the plane then I am happy to sell it. I think I will probably crash it on the maiden flight, I am not ready for such planes yet. I will Private Message you the details. Thanks!
p.s. Go to the Clubhouse ... there is a thread there called Malaysian Hangar, come join us there, its very small but I hope it grows!

wow u seems to fly almost everyday.I just don't understand why u said that u are not ready for this type of plane.since you fly so frequent i believe you are able to handle anything.are you a speed freak? i believe so since you fly with awie's group.Ok...have you heard of the SIG wonder?...something like a delta wing?...i am planning to bring in some from states...its in kit form....but the problem i have is the pricing...inorder to get it cheap..its gonna be a bulk purchase..say bout 10 sets...the price i am getting is Rm188...do you think its reasonable?...please help me to spread it around...i am not making a single cents out from it...just for the sake of hobbies....from the information i get........this tiny plane can run at about say 120 mph (to be logic) which from my opinion .....it is very fast for my standard.....engine is a .25 size.....wong is bringing in some ASP engine this size....maybe we can cut a good deal if we can have an amount of people interested....

I think the Raven is a lovely plane and I do not want to have it crashed on the first day out. Someone like you who is firmilar with it is best to own it. Speed freak? No la ... I do love speed but not really for planes. I just like to see it fly and then do nonsense up there, its called FREEDOM!

Guys ... I finally got the guts to take the RAVEN up. ITS A GREAT PLANE TO FLY!!! I love it! There is no such thing as the nasty tip stall and super fast landings and take offs! Hey ... I do not fly a turbine ok. The plane was powered with an SC46 turning an APC 11x6 prop. She was balanced a little nose heavy, about 5 degrees down.
I got the plane ready and then off I went to the flying field at 06:30 PM, the engine was a little cranky so by the time I got her up it was like 07:15 with light fading fast, we did 2 flights and the plane was alright, I did not maiden her or land her.
The next morning I was out with the Raven at 07:00 am this time. I did my first take off and she took off nicely with not much right rudder input or up elevator, she lifted off with a touch of the elevator only. My first proper flight was nervous and I tried to do rolls and loops, there was insufficient throw so I landed her to add more. The landing was fast and she came in fine.
The after adding more throw I also put in soe washout on the ailerons. Took her off, it was the same, and then started to see how the slow flying would be like. She flew even better ... I did lows passes and it was nice. This time coming in for landing was like a slightly fast low wing trainer only. Most manageable.
Tomorrow I am going to take her up with the APC3D prop to see if the larger prop will help, the extra wash that is.
I have learnt one thing, everything can fly ... except pigs. How it flies depends on how we set up the plane. I have not experienced any of the nasty characteristics that were told to me. If anyone has the 60 sized one for sale I will take it!!!

Billium ... I think you should take the 91 out as it is such a small plane, a 70 sized 4C is more than sufficient. The added weight (higher wing loading) is not going to help the Raven's flying characteristic.
Stop worrying about how the plane flies ... I did and it was left in the box of rmonths. Its no longer flying now as I do not want to crash such a beautiful plane (pilot error of course). Trust me the plane flies nice!!! Just set it up properly (slightly nose heavy for the maiden flight, washout on the ailerons and slightly less throw than recommended for the maiden flight).
Anyone with a Global Raven NIB? I would gladly buy it!!!

Oh I want too participate!!!! I had two of these. I was able to get both of them airborne. The first one snapped
and came down and crashed and the second one did the same. Some call it a lead sled, maybe thats why they discontinued it.
Lots of motor and good balance might help alot!
Nice looking plane though. Maybe with some modifications you can keep your alive.

Manual suggests:
CG - 3.5"
Ail - 3/8"
Rud - 1 1/8"
Ele - 1/2"
Mine:
CG - 3.25" or 3.5" but about 5 degrees nose down (for maiden flight and then adjust to your liking)
Ail - 3/8" (i love a lot of ailerons, so I can roll fast when flying slowly)
Rud - 1 1/8" is fine ... does not really cause the plane to fly bad
Ele - just under 1/2", the plane will not snap that fast
Washout - 1/8" on ailerons
Please ensure that your plane has the wing tips and aileron tips inserted!!!

Anyone have any pictures of their Raven 40? I bought one yesterday from a hobby shop here and put it up this morning. This is the BEST flying high-wing design plane I have had yet. The only bad trait I could find wrong with this plane was with the KB 53 engine , it needs a long run way to get it up in the air. Once airborn she fly's great.
