Default Lanier Stinger ARF Giant 84 span

Recieved my ARF version of the Giant size Stinger. All i can say is what a improvement over the kit version. This bird is a lot liter and well built. The covering is excellant and i really like the color scheme of red , black and white. I am putting a Brison 4.2 up front for all out aerobatics and 3d. This plane has never been considered for 3d but i seen one last season on a fpe 4.2 that was awesome . The arf version has built up wings and no plastic crap to vibrate loose for constant repair. I am really impressed with this bird and for $380 bucks with all quality hardware All American hardware i might add i feel it is a good buy.

That's funny, the one I put one together for the hobby shop owner, it had metric hardware, on the other hand I guess that they just used 4-40 stuff instead of finding 3 or 4 mm hardware. The plane is great and requires almost no improvement, I just addad a latch and dowels instead of screws to put the hatch cover on. No tools required except for the wing bolts. Stingers are great, they fly real good and are light if built right.

I have the giant stinger too with the G62 and I was totally impressed with this plane. With a 4.2 that thing is just gonna be crazy. My stinger has completely ulimited performance with a G 62. I was thinking of buying another giant stinger and putting that new ultra light weight BME 110 extreme or the 105 extreme on the front but I don't think the plane could handle it.

My local shop owner gave me a great price on this bird , it listed out at under $450 at the regular price i dont know anyone who has paid over $500 for this bird. Even Laniers retail price is $499.00 Anyway thanks for the good comments guys, cant wait to get it in the air here in Iowa. Hopefully spring will come soon and some 70degree weather.I thought about the 3.2 but i kept falling back on the other kit versions where the 3.2 would fly it ok but not unlimited. I didnt realize how much liter the ARF is.

Last year Tower brought it down to around 330 for the Giant stinger on their daily sale. I bought mine for 370. Keep an eye out on them again and see if they offer it on the daily sale again. I wish I had bought 2.

All I can say is Great Choice. Great plane you will love it. I had one with a 3.2 and one with a 4.2. The 4.2 will definately give you UNLIMITED VERT !!! The plane did anything I ask of it with the 3.2 and in some ways the 4.2 sorta hurt it. Way too much power, and the added nose & tail weight hindered the performance. Enjoy !!!!!
