As a preventative step on mine, I took out the stock blind nuts, and installed some 1/4-20 blinds, and used nylon bolts to attach the gear.
I'm hoping that the bolt will break before the fuse does.
I was flying in pretty stiff wind this weekend, and bring it in for landing - I've got a siato 80 in mine and couldn't get it to idle down for some reason, so I was coming in under more power than normal. Into the wind I was holding it a little nose high , and then the wind just died when I had it 4 feet off the deck and the plane sunk in -- took a good fall, but landed flat with no damage to anything. Bolts held good too.

Nice videos (I just watched the glow ones). Awesome upright flat spin in video #2...I think the pilot thought so too!
Somebody needs to work on their landings, though.

I'm learing to get my hovering down and like mark said it's "easy and medium difficulty" to hover. If you get in the hover right you can keep it their but once it goes off it take some sticks to get it back in line. It's a fun plane etheir way.

If you look at all 4 videos you'll see some greased landings. I put that one funky landing in there to show not everything we do is perfect and sterile

I maidened my twist today. Got it on video for ya. I had two sucessfull flights. I went up with only 15 minutes of daylight left so i couldn't see too well, didn't do anything fancy.
This .77 two stroke mvvs engine i have sounds a lot different than my other 2 stroke (Evo .45 tps). A lot deeper sound, i like it, revs up real good, although its underproped with an apc 13*4. I did have a lot of vibration at different rpm's on the plane but not so when i had the engine clamped in a bench testing stand. I think its because my engine mount fingers are pressing against my cowling on each side (is that a no no?). Normally the engine mount just touches the firewall but this engine is a bit bigger and is spreading the mount open more and up against the sides.
Anyway heres the video link, let me know what you guys think. Some of my other videos on that page are funny.

ghee-grose, I ran out of gas @ about 10 feet or so in a hover. It was ALL MY FAULT because another guy had been flying it when it sputtered on a down line. He gave me the controls and I decided to do "ONE MORE HOVER". That was DUMB. She quit and feel straight down. With ten feet it only fell over and I had no chance to flare.

The video was awesome! You did VERY well on that maiden with your "limited" airfield.
I love the backyard landings.
I think we share the same flying styles......REBELS!!!!

Fury, again, awesome flat spin [8D] I can get it into REALLY good inverted flat spins, every time I try, but getting it into a really good upright flat spin is much harder......but when it happens, oh baby !

Well I did shoe in a OS .91 4S running a APC 15x4W. First flight today. WOW, if you want fun!! This combo is fantastic. Vertical, I mean vertical till it was in the clouds. No weight added to balance. Slow flight and landing perfect. Weighs 6 lbs. I did pay very good attention to servos and hardware used to flight surfaces. NO slop. Flew wide open a few times, perfect.
If you guys want a real fun TWIST, put a .90-1.00 4 cycle on it. Dave

Good lord, a 91 4S??!! I've got a OS70FSII w/12-8 in mine and got plenty of power! I used to run a 14x4W but didn't like the prop clearance.
I feel your pain, DWMT, cause I did the same thing with my first Twist. Too many hovers=run out of gas @10ft vertical=crunch just behind wing=new twist. I probably could've fixed it, but didn't feel like it for $100. Plus got a spare wing out of the deal.
Hovers: 4 washers; two for downthrust, and two for rightthrust. Helps alot. Ever notice how cranking vertical you start leaning left? Well, that's torque working against you. Mine always fell to the canopy & left, so I put in the 4 washers behind the engine mount, and it hovers alot better now. Still a little towards the canopy, but no more left.

It's a lot of fun to fly that plane that is for sure. We always look for the fun factor with any plane and the twist is in that category. In that one video sounded like the guy who they said was crazy, who was running for Pres LOL eeeehahahah
