Stryker F-16 from parkzone

I saw a fellow fly this today at our club field and I can tell you I was impressed with it. The guy that was flying it really likes the plane and he said it is a real pleasure to fly. I watched as he put the plane thru some snap rolls and inverted flight. If I hadn't just bought the Great Planes DC3 I would be considering this plane.

I have one. It is an F-27 Stryker and not F-16. Flies superb! I fly mine with the stock battery and also with 8 cell Kan 1050's. I moved the battery bay slightly forward as the CG from the factory I felt was slightly aft. Also, the silver plastic piece that covers the receiver and esc will come off. They use a sticky gluish type of stuff to hold it on. It would have been better if they had you epoxy it on. Also, this plane aint for beginners. You have to go easy on the sticks at first or else it will nose dork into the ground.

I have heard some say that the stock motor is not very good on this one...at least for this plane setup. What do you guys here that have them think?

I think the stock motor is fine, this plane screams and is a ball to fly. there is no fuss as with a gas plane, just charge it up, find a small field and have a blast! I flew mine yesterday in gusty 20mph + winds and this thing was moving with the wind and then I slowed it down and literally flew backwards into the wind! They are a ball to fly, not a beginners aircraft, but definately a great second plane after a trainer and a sim.

The stock long can 480 motor does the plane just fine. Over at the E-zone, a few of the guys have just bought the parts from hobbyzone
for $65. They put their own servos and electronics in and put on Mega brushless motors with 3S lipoly batt packs. Your looking at
minimum 3 times faster. Its an excellent plane for what it is intended for. Hopefully, parkzone will come out with a nice bi-plane that utilizes this power system.

Mine is a riot! Tons of fun, the other day, I hit a power line and tore the nose off about 1" behind where the nose cone is taped on.
What the hey, I threw it up and used the rest of the pack with no nose on!!
3 times faster??!!!!???
HMMMMMM..........[X(]

electric planes are coming on fast and this plane is an excellent example of where they are at right now. I fly both gas and electric and like I said earlier in the post that this plane flies great on the stock motor, I personally would not want anything faster. I hope my electric DC-3 flies as good.

You run 3S lipoly packs like Tanics or ThunderPower, Mega 4 turn brushless and a stiff carbon prop, easily double the speed.
Because with the lipoly pack as compared to 8 cell packs, your looking at about 5 ounces or more weight loss.
Electrics have advantage up to a point. Take for instance a hangar 9 Twist. There is a guy on the E-Zone who powered his
with a brushless AXI motor. Then a brushless speed control and batt packs. In all, he's probably got close to 400 or more in this
power setup. I spent $90 on an EVO .46 in mine. Once you get to a point, I can't see spending the extra $$$ just so you don't have
to clean up after a day's flying.

I recently purchased one of these. I have a small field behind my house, that isnt big enough for a gas plane. So I got one of these strykers.
Nice kit, cheap, easy to put together. It only takes about 40 min from start to flying.
This is definatly not a beginners airplane. Its fast, and SUPER agile.
I parked mine in the top of a tree, durn trees. First time I ever did that. Too bad they dont have a reverse on the motor, or I could have backed it out.
They fly great, and are almost indestructible. Ive been flying for a long time, and it put up a challenge for me to fly. I like a challenge.
Im building a quarter scale Ultimate Biplane, so this gives me something to fly in the meantime. Plus I dont have to drive 15 miles to the flying field to go fly it.
You can easily fly this plane in a baseball field. Just watch out for trees and light posts.

I just picked one up yesterday. I had read so many glowing reviews on it, I had to check it out. In a word...AWESOME!
I have only been flying for about 3 months. My first plane, the parkzone cub, was a great intro to the hobby, and taught me what I needed to know to take the stryker up for its maiden flight without crashing it. The stryker is so responsive, that if I was not familiar with the dangers of over controlling the stick, it would have been plowed into the ground. Even on the low rate setting it turns on a dime.
The battery life is great too! I could not believe how long the pack lasted. I am all charged up and ready to go out again...but with the 35 mph gusts going right now, I think i had better wait.
Good luck, and I hope you have as much fun as I am!
