I'm running an OS108 on a GP 90/120 super sporster. It has a 14/6 zinger on it now, and does a fine job of hauling this plane around. I have been advised to try a 15/6 or 15/8.

From: Center of the Flyover States,
A friend of mine has this set up. He got a special pitts muffler (Slimline) I think that has the pipes slanted way back just to fit the cowl. A regular pitts would come straight down, I think. His muffler was made especially for the CG Ultimate. Man does it haul!!!!!!!

I've had 2 CG Ultimates with 1.08's and my favorite prop on both was an APC 16x6. This gave plenty of vertical but kept speeds low enough to avoid flutter and the like.

I had one that was built from a kit that flew perfectly with two elevator servos mounted in the tail and pull-pull on the rudder. The second one I had was one of the ARF kits. It also flew great, but was on the nose-heavy side mostly due I think to having the pull-pull rudder and a pushrod-operated elevator with the servo up front next to the rudder servo. Even with this setup, the plane could fly without lead in the tail and still maintain a decent CG. I always used slimline Pitts mufflers with the 1.08 which seemed to work well. The only problem I ever had was with the newer version of the 1.08 with the remote needle valve. Mine needed large diameter fuel tubing with no fueler valve to get enough fuel flow to allow the engine to be properly richened up. The older version of the engine I had did not have this problem.

I have an older 108. Needle on the carb version... and I have it in a FuntanaS 90. Here is snap of what I had to do to the cowl!!! The pitts muffs don't have enuff back pressure... so use a perry pump or "Pinch the Tubes"... see picture...Oh yeah.. I am at 3000 feet msl and I am using YS 20/20 fuel and an APC 16 x 4W
