Supertiger G90 in a Tiger 60 ?

No pipe looks funny to me! Hey, you have a low wing, good for pipe placement. It is a happy engine that makes it a thing of beauty....:-) Of course you'd want a smooth power pipe with a linear power band for that plane.

Fellas - I've got a G90 in a Tiger 60 and have been fairly impressed so far. Problem is I'm at 7000 feet and verticals with this combo are pretty disappointing. I've seen a lot of advice on the G90s in here but it seems like a lot of it is conflicting. I'm looking for some relatively simple ideas on hopping up the engine performance (ie carb upgrades, fuel, pipes, etc). I use 15% nitro and have tried both 12x8 and 13x6 APCs. Anyone got any specific recommendations on how to get this Tiger to really purr?

Thanks for the reply - I'll definitely try a little more prop. What fuel do you run in your G90? Seems to me a higher nitro content would give it more bang but I don't know a lot about 2 strokes and how fuel blends either help or hurt an engines performance. Jon

I run the ST G90 on my vmar f4 phantom spins the 12X8 with a mac's pipe, not to bad , but this is a draggy plane, but I will say this prop is incorrect for piping the engine , I have recently bought another engine more deserving of a pipe , so I have remounted the original muffler

My G90 did not like 15% nitro (with OS No.8 plus), I had 'pinging' problems. The I went to 5% nitro and it was fine. Yesterday, I took the engine out to run it in a new plane and all I had was 15% nitro fuel, I changed to a colder OS plug and she runs fine now.
