Default Your winter projects!! Post em here!

It's time for us ARF'ers to post our winter wish list/projects! Think there a few threads throughout RCU regarding this but we always have one just for the ARF section.

So post what you plan on buying, building and/or hoping to get this winter to keep you busy. I know this might not apply to our friends who live in warmer climates but here in the mid-atlantic flying has become harder as the weeks progress and we approach winter. Not that it is snowing here but the wind and cold make it very hard. Well enough about that, what do you got?

I will start with my list for the winter bench:

1. VQ P-40 Warhawk. I will drop some CJ retracts in it and a Saito 91. Plane is built otherwise.
2. If the weather cannot hold then my CAP-X will get a thorough tuning this winter. First time with a perry pump so it has been a learning exp that continues
3. 90 sized Pattern plane. Will be built and tested for a manufacturer. Appears to be a nice candidate for a YS 1.10 and some digis all the way around
4. Goldberg Decathlon with a Saito 91 or 100.

Possible list:

1. EF Yak 68" w/YS 1.10
2. Hanger 9 Funtana 90 w/YS 1.10

There is my short list as of now, im sure it might change. Please post pics of your projects as well!

Hi Diablo. My winter project is an OMP Hybrid. I am planning on installing a BME 55Xtreme into it so it may turn into my winter, spring, summer, fall project.
Hitec 5945s all around.
Li-ion batteries
Decked out in CF.
Most of the building is done. Just need to finish a wing then begin covering.

I will only have one this winter due to the overall cost. I am planning to get the Carl Goldberg Monster Pitts that is not out yet. The cost will be somewhere around $1,000.00 before it's finished.

My current kit build will run into the winter.

There are a couple of ARFs I'd like to have. Maybe I'll be able to get one of them?
Sig Four Star 60 - the yellow version
Great Planes Big Stik 60 - I know a lot of people like the Ultra Stick 60 better, but I prefer the looks of the Big Stik
I have an OS 91 four stroke in the box that should be good for either plane.

This was going to be a winter project, if there really is a winter in Florida, but just couldn't wait! So, maybe recover the Cap-X! That is if the old covering will come off with all the ca used to keep it on!!! Go figure.

Here in Ohio we haver a longer "building" season than "flying" season, even though I plan on trying to fly all winter. Here is my list of winter projects:

Rascal C - I built this 2 years ago but never happy with the performance,
I am currently converting to brushless and adding floats.
Biplane_ I just picked this up, it's an old kit that needs minor repairs and
re-painted, I don't know it's name.
Kange Monocoupe (60 size)- I started this and hope to finnish in a couple
months, I'm putting a Irvine .72 in it.
ModelTech P-47- I am nearly done with this It just needs the Cowl
mounted and wing servos added. I have a new Magnum
.91 fs. in it.
Sig Spacewalker II - this is my big project, I am going to start in the next
week or 2. This I hope will be done by next spring.

Already bought, but have not started a GP Super Sporster MKII... I will start building it probably in a couple of weeks and will make some small mods to it thanks to advice found here on the board. [8D]

We really dont have a "winter" season down here so its just the "latest" project.

bye

These are my current priorities, in order...

I am going to put (hopefully) Spring Air retracts in a GSP Spitfire.
I am going to build the Dymond F8F Bearcat ARF.
I hope to build the 1/4 Kangke Monocoupe ARF.

Here are my winter projects:

1. Finish the Four Star 40 kit that I started last winter. I am using a TT 46 in it. This is my first kit.

2. Put a new tail on my crashed Super Sportster since it no longer has one. Same for the firewall. Reinstall the OS 46 FX.

3. Build the GP AT-6 ARF with a OS 46FX. Got this on E-bay with some wing damage really cheap.

4. Build the Vector Flight Edge 540 with a Magnum 91XLS.

My wife wants me to transfer all of our family tapes to DVD so I'll probably have to do some of those too. :-)

Where to begin.

WH Extra300LX with BME 50
WH Double Edge Bipe with SACHS 4.2
GoldBerg Ultimate w/O.S. 120 FS
Phoenix Sukhoi HB .61
The Next is almost air but still ground. A Hovercraft wth a OS .61

If I don't run out of space then finish my SIG Kobra.
That's all for now.

These is the main project for the winter:
AeroWorks PT-17 Stearman with Magnum 400 (Keleo radial exhaust system and McDaniel glow driver ). I think to improve this kit with scale cockpits, line&rivets, scale pilot, nomenclature, decals and other scale items.
The engine is just running on the test stand and I wait the Stearmen for the end of novembre.

Lots of advanced project here. Being a beginner, here are my 'winter' projects:

1. Venus 40 with Magnum XLS 52.
2. SIG SE (kit) with either a Irvine 53 or maybe a 4 stroke.

Mine is either a Sig Hog Bipe or 4 * 60 w/Saito .91 (depends on what sanny clause brings)
I have a Sig Kougar that needs re-covered and a general overhaul. May use a TT .46 pro or OS .46 AX in it.
Couple of brushless motors for my Corsair and a flying wing.
Currently building a Cessna 182 Skylane, 46 size. I hope I can get it done by this weekend. I just may get to fly the damn thing
as long as it aint windy here.
