Do the new GP Pitts ARF come with the wing mods or will I have to do them,. If so ,what is the mod? Also how would a G-45 work for an engine.
Thanks George

If you are referring to the cabane fix yes, I just received my GP Pitts ARF this week and the fixes have been applied. If you have one of the new kits, you will see an red stamped "Updated" on the sides of the top wing root.

I'm putting a G-62 in mine for the power. Not much more weight than the 45 (not much more $$$ either). I've heard with the G-45 that it flys very "scale like" but not quite unlimited vertical. Make sure you beef up the firewall area with the heavy engine.

Hey guy's:
i've been flying mine with a g-62 for about 5 months now & it's great. You will have to do many modifications to keep the plane from falling apart with this engine. You can do a search on the g.p. pitts & find a lot of help, i fact i have a lot of info on what i have done to mine. Try to keep it as light as possible as mine full of fuel & smoke oil weights 21#, @ this weight if you chop the throttle on final approach it falls out of the sky like a brick. You have to fly it in & chop the throttle when you are very close to the runway. I'm not saying it is bad, it just takes getting used of. The g-62 gives this plane unlimited performance with a 22x12 mejzlik prop, also i am planing to install a ch ignition on the g-62, this will smooth out the vibrations a lot. have fun

Default Hey RCISMYLIFE

Did you keep the stock right thrust on the engine mount when you mounted your G-62? I usually like just mounting it straight and using rudder adjustments if necessary. Please let me know if you made any changes to the engine mount.

Yes i kept the right thrust. i also used b&b vibration isolators & cup mount, I had to cut 3/8" out of the cup mount & have it welded back together to acheive the 6 1/2" engine length. I also cut the forward part of the two top fins off of the engine for cowl clearance. I only had to cut one small hole inj the cowl for the spark plug cap. If i can be of any more help you can e-mail me @

aqua....

I have a G45 with a 20x10 pro-zinger prop in mine and it flies great (no changes to mount)!! The vertical is not unlimited, but it's pretty darn good. The fixes were already in, so that was easy. I just followed the directions and all went well. I installed a redundant switch w/2 batt. packs and also installed a B&B smoke system. It weighs in right at 16# dry. Even the "really good" flyers at the field are impressed by this one !!

Enjoy......
