Somebody had posted on here a while back that the Edge wasn't going to be here until November or so. Check the Yellow Aircraft Edge thread elsewhere in this forum for a more definitive answer. Wish they would get here soon though so I could decide if I REALLY need one or not

Hi,
They're on the way! They're on the slow boat from Taiwan (literally). They'll be here and through customs by the end of the month. Gimme an email if you want to save a few bucks on one.

According to Yellow, the Edges are sold out for a while.. Nov will probably be the first time one will be able to call (YA International) and get one shipped... otherwise, I'd put your name in the queue.... The factory in mainland China can only produce so many ARFs... that's the delay - the man/woman hours to build the planes...
They have very very few ARFs in stock.. I think just a couple Extra 120-size if that.

Yellow, Can you give me the specs on the 60 size G-300? No offense to you, but I can't stand the "general" specs that Yellow Aircraft prints in their ad. Also, what do you sell them for?

Tailtwister, what kind of specs do you want to know? I just put the decals on mine last night and have been fine tuning it in the air for about the past week.
My specs:
Engine: Saito 100 + 15x6 APC = unlimited vertical
Weight: 7.1 lbs
Covering: Monocote
Wingspan: ~60 inches
Wing is one piece.
Tail is airfoiled with a fiberglass vertical fin.
It's an ARF but it does seem to take a bit longer that normal ARF's to put together. The vertical fin is a bit odd and is what took me to most time.

I guess what you put, plus the wing area. What's up with the fin? Is the whole fuse done in glass? Also is it purple or the metallic plum like the full scale? How much throw can the elevator achieve?

The fin is a bit odd in that it has a vertical piece of wood that goes up the back of the fin that the hinges go into.
The ailerons and elevator are NOT double beveled but the rudder is. I don't have any picts showing max throws but it should be enough to 3D.
You can see the fin in the following pict which was taken after everything was removed from the box.

Here is a better shot of the tail after I epoxied the horizonal fin down. The piece of wood on top pull out futher to glue down from the back of that former to the vertical piece of wood that goBTW, it's kind of a royal blue. Monokote goes up from the tail. You can see the "slot" where that vertical piece goes.
I built up behind the stabilzer a bit otherwise there is a gap.

BTW, I don't know the wing area but it just gently drops the right wing when it stalls. I haven't balenced it laterally yet and it SHOULD be right heavy with the engine so it makes sense.
Oh, and the color is Monocote's Insignia Blue.
Here is a pict of the full sized plane.

Any trouble getting the CG with your Saito? It looks like the fuselage has a nice rounded shape to it. Is that the case, or is it flat sided like a regular kit? Thanks for all the info!

Lower sides and bottom are flat.
And I didn't have any problems with CG. Just moved the battery pack around.
I'll take more pictures tonight with the decals applied. Anything in particular you want picts of, lemme know.
BTW, YellowAircraft, are the 1.20 sized planes offiical 1/4 scale? More specifically, are they IMAA legal?

No special pics. Just more about the flight charachteristics whenever possible. I'm interested in KE stability and coupling, slowflight (maybe with a bit of flapperon), and high alpha stuff like harriers.

Ok, that might take awhile as I don't know when I'll be able to fly next. Hopefully in a couple of days. I was going to try knife edge and hovering last time out but my remote glow crapped out on me. If I'm not able to try it by this weekend, it'll be about 1.5 weeks before I'm able to fly again.
jsonin, have you tried any high-alpha stuff with any of the other Yellows?

You'll be able to get plenty of throw for all sorts of acrobatics.... inverted flats (which doesn't really require a ton of throw), hovering, harriers, etc...
For some basic acrobatics:

and
http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Cyberia...cap_smoke.html
I'll have some hovering video of the Sukhoi (and hopefully the Giles) soon....
