Default CMPro 65" Extra 300s finished.. Pics!!

Hey everyone,
Just finished my 65" CMPro Extra, the 90 2c/ 120 4c size one. Its been a real joy to build, and its come together very well, i'm very happy. I built it over about 6 weeks bit by bit to get it how i wanted. The quality of the kit was supurb, the built excellent and i can't really ask for much more!! I managed to pick the kit up at a great price and the engine even better!! I am running an O.S. 1.08/Bisson Pitts combo with a 15*6 APC to run it in. I did change a few things... change from the supplied 3 mylar CA hinges per aileron to 5 GP CA items per aileron, and from 2 in the rudder to 3 GP one's, and 3 GP's in each elevator half. I also opted for a dual elevator setup.I also glassed up the wingjoin for a bit extra strength since i am running a powerful engine.

Radio wise I'm running JR 539's on ailerons and rudder, Hitec 475's on each elevator half and a JR 577 for throttle.

I was so angry when i found out that our digital camera was actually here, i thought it was still packed in boxes from when we moved house as christmas as i really wanted to post progress pics.. but now thats not possible.. but i did take some pics just before, as i just finished balancing it. Its ready now to hit the field.. just gotta program in the rates and expo. I've run 3 tanks on the ground now to make sure all is good.. i'm still worried bout whether the Pitts muffler will perform with both outlets open.. i fear it may lack enough pressure for the tank to get steady fuel flow in vert flight.

But anyway hope you all like it.. i know a lot of guys have been mumbling about looking at them.. i know in the states, GSP sell this plane as a GSP item or whatever, so you can now make a judgement on what you think I'll post up maiden details maybe tomorrow if i get the nerve to take it down and test it in the wind.. tomorrow looks like the only day it will happen as its gunna turn crap weather till early next week.. but i fear tomorrow will have high Northerly winds.. not so good at our club for test flying due to a nice creek at the beggining of the runway.

So here's so pics, enjoy and please tell me what you think! Sorry for the darkness of the pics my garage has bad lighting.. the others are from my room.

ha ha doesn't bother me mate, the 1.08 has plenty enough power mate.. not to mention the YS would make it alot more nose heavy that it already was with the OS.. The other night at like 2am i couldn't sleep so i attacked the back of my plane again and made a really neat hatch with the battery strapped to a support on the former near the elevator servo's so it helped alot with balancing, it only needed about 100gm's of weight in the tale after that. And as you mentioned if i took the Magnum 3" alluminium spinner off it would have balanced with out weight. But i like the look

Does anyone know if having the antenna come back on itself reduce range? I have the antenna running straight out the bottom after the wing mount bolts, to the tail with the normal set up of a rubber band and servo arm connected to it etc. but the antenna is fairly long on the JR R700... so it reaches the tail then back onitself aout 80mm.. is that a problem?

Just let the antenna run free, don't double it back!

I can let it run free but there is the metal pushrods on either side of it for the rudder and elevator and i dont want it to touch them.. as metal isn't the antenna's best friend..the only thing i can think of is to fix it on the bottom of the rudder with enough slack between it and the fuz to allow movement without damageing it.. i've done this on a previous plane and it was okay i just dont want to drill any holes in the rudder.. I'll have to come up with something.

I HAD ONE WITH A 120 OS IN IT AND WHAT A GREAT FLYING AIRPLANE. AS YOU READ ,HAD. THE FLIGHT BATTERY CRAPED OUT 2 MIN. INTO MY FIRST FLIGHT AND IT WENT IN HARD INTO THE WOODS BY OUR FIELD. ENGINE AND RECIVER WERE THE ONLY THING I COULD RECOVER FROM THE CRASH. THE PLANE TOOK OFF LIKE A TRAINER AND WAS SO STABLE IN FLIGHT IT ONLY NEED 2 CLICKS OF RIGHT TRIM AND IT WAS HANDS OFF. THE BATTERY WAS NEW AND NEVER IN A AIRCRAFT. I WAS PISSED! SO I CAME HOME AND ORDERED THE SAME PLANE AND THIS IS ALMOST READY FOR ITS FIRST FLIGHT, I HOPE I HAVE BETTER LUCK. GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS.
