I am just finishing a U Can Do 46 and the plans instruct you to put the control horns on the tops of the elevators and then use a reversing Y connector. Is there any reason why I couldn't put one of the horns on the bottom of the elevator and use a standard Y connnector. My LHS is out of reversing Y connectors and I was hoping to fly it this weekend since I already have a standard Y.
Thoughts appreciated

I didn't use a Y connector on mine. I ran servo extensions and plugged one elev. half into the Rx gear port and the other into the elev. port and mixed gear to elevator in my Tx. I don't like Y connectors. Using separate channels for elev. halves allows for individual fine tuning .

I thought about doing that ( I'm using a Futaba 7CAP radio) but I could find an example in the manual. I will have to play around with the custom mixing features.

It doesn't take any kind of a special mix. Put Right elevator in Ch 2 and Left elevator in Ch 8 or Ch 7 if you don't have an 8 channel receiver. Should be able to activate AUX channel (7 or 8) and everything should work. Then you will have to adjust a little bit to get them working at the proper/same speed and travel. Not all that hard really.thanks,

Barry,
I did figure how to do it with a custom mix of gear and elevator.

Use a reversible Y-harness with the Futaba 7-CAP . Believe me ,, it's better. You can't adjust elev trim equally while in flight with the 7-CAP. You do have aileron mixing that works perfect. But Futaba doesn't put in the correct elev mix features in radios less than the 9-C, etc.
And no,, I didn't post this because it's my thoughts or idea. Got it right from Futaba's website.

Cee Gee. That troll got any clothes on? Maybe you better paint the canopy. Now I know what you are hiding.
Thanks,
Barry
