DKflyer : I had one of these Caps a few months ago . I had a Saito 150 on mine, I started with a YS120 " too heavy" then on to a YS 91 " too weak" & settled on the Saito. Man what vertical !! This joker would hold a hover at about 1/4 throttle , yes they hover & TR very well. I used Hitech 425bb servo's except on the rudder, it was a high torque Cirrus. I replaced all the hardware to Sullivan , tail-wheel, control horns, clevises. I moved the servo mounting tray to the back of the wing opening & glued it in there for balance with the Heavy YS. Hope this helps, Later, Rob
P.S. Get your motor & balance your plane as you build it , this might keep you from having to add weight to get it to balance later. If you go with the 120 Saito you'll most likely have to move your servo try back also. Later

I have one of these that I used to fly with a ST 90 and a 15x6 APC. Flew like a scalded cat, mostly at half throttle. Only flew full throttle if I wanted to go straight up. Never did hover because the ST would hold mid throttle at that attitude.
Great plane, very well constructed. Hardware and decals suck. Had to put several ounces of weight in the nose to get it to balance at the back side of the range.

If you go with the 120 Saito you'll most likely have to move your servo try back also. I said 120 because that's what DKflyer said he was going to use. I used the 150 , but the 120 & 150's weight are real close, if you used the 120 I would imagine you would have to do the same thing I did to keep from adding unnecessary weight to balance. Hope this clears that up. Let me know if you have any more questions. Rob
P.S. Here's a pic of it.

Believe it or not, I still haven't finished this airplane. I was surprised to see the thread pop back up, but I'm glad it did because I was still trying to decide which engine to put in.
I bought a Saito 100 for it, but I'm thinking of puting that in a P-40 I have. It sounds like it needs nose weight anyway, so I think I'm going to get a 120 for it. Besides, I am going to put two servos in the tail for the elevator instead of using the "Y" pushrod, so it will be even more tail heavy then normal.
Which 120 do you all think would be a better fit? A Saito 120 which is a little lighter and has a little more power, or an OS 120 with a pump so I can put the fuel tank on the CG? (The Saito weighs 28oz and the OS weighs 32oz).
Thanks,
DK
