Default Pitts Model 12

KMP has a nice looking Pitts Model 12 available. Is there anyone out there that has one? The trim scheme on that is really cool.

I'm curious how it compares to the Goldberg Model 12. (other than the minor size difference)

Anyone have experience with either of these birds?

Thanks.

I'm just finishing up the motor installation on my CG Monster Pitts. It is an excellent build. The plane is really nice. And everything I heard about flying it is good too. Cant help with the KMP kit.

I just got the Goldberg Pitts Model 12 also. I thought about the KMP, but couldnt see paying the big difference in price.

Specs:

Goldberg Pitts 12 Monster ($379.99 at Tower)
construction- built up fuse and wings, glass cowl
Length- 56"
Wingspan (top) 60"
engine- .90 - 1.08 2S, 1.20 4S

KMP Pitts Model 12 ($449.95 from KMP website)
construction- glass fuse, built up wings
Length- 61.8"
Wingspan (top) 63.4"
engine- 1.08 - 1.20 2S

I got my CG Pitts for $370 out the door from my LHS, but even if I didnt get a discount, I still would have picked it over the KMP. A glass fuselage, 5 inches more length and 3.4 inches more wing just isnt worth an extra $70.00 to me.

Thanks all for the replies so far.

Tailskid, nice pics, thanks!

I have the Cermark Pitts (blue and white) but really dig the look of the Model 12. Something about the radial engine that really sets it apart.

lowlevflyer, we were on the same track with the price difference. That's a good chunk of change for what seems to be not much more of an airplane.

deputydog, sounds like you're ready to enjoy yours. I'm curious how different if flies compared to the Cermark S2.

The KMP Pitts 12 flies really well I have a ZDZ40 in mine and a friend a Mackay 30, looks stunning in the air, knife to knife flicks very crisp, also flat spins well. Have a look at this forum http://www.*************.co.uk/4um/i...?topic=21467.0
