Default UCanDo3D (.46) Landing Gear

I'm getting tired of gluing up the damage caused by "hard" landings. Anyone had any luck beefing up the landing gear support area of the fuse on the U Can Do 3D .46?

First ditch the stock alum gear. Go to [link=http://www.graphtechrc.com/]Graphtech[/link] or maybe here [link=http://tntlandinggear.com/store/shop/composite_landing_gear.htm]Carbon gear[/link]
Order up a UCD.46 replacement CF gear. Much lighter and will flex better.

Remove the gear and everything near the gear block area including the blind nuts. Soak it in thin CA let cure. Take some tri-stock and lay on either side of the gear block for support. Finally take some flibercloth and 30 minute epoxy glassing the whole area.
Go to bed. Next day drill two holes where the old ones were fitting them for 1/4" bolts and blind nuts. I personally use nylon bolts on most of my planes but some folks hate them and prefer to rip the bottom out of their planes rather than simply bring a handfull of spare nylon bolts to the field. If they shear off on a hard landing no big deal. Just grab a couple more and maybe replace a broken prop. And if they shear off deeper inside the blind nut just take a small flat head screw driver and heat it up on the tip. Let the blade melt into the sheared off bolt and hold it there till it cools a bit. Then simply screw it out and replace it. I always keep one of those $5.00 butane mini torches in my tool box for just that reason.
Also adding a nylon washer with the nylon bolt seems to help as well. Good luck.

Sorry,,, didn't have a pic handy of my UCD/46.

i just glued everything back with 30 min epoxy(the hot glue they use is crap for landing gear) then used some 8-32 allthread and drilled from the wing mount bulkhead into the gear block all the way into the air ramp, soak the allthread in 30 min epoxy then screw the allthread (preecut to length with screwdriver slot cut in it)all the way through, mine never came apart again
