I am interested in any info on the CMP Extra 300S 90 size ARF sold by AK-Models, from someone who has purchased and flown it. Also any info on the company AK-Models. Recommended engine size is 4 stroke 91-120. I will be using a Saito 100 if purchased. Is that enough power for Aerobatics for this model.

I have been looking for an aero for home for my 120 4stroke, and have heard the Extra to be on the heavy side and will easily snap at slow speeds.
I have settled on a Top Gun Edge 540, do a search for Shyshark Edge or check out www.skyshark.com.

Welcome to RCU 052....Yes, The Extra does snap at low speed and landings are "hot". The weight is fairly respectable at 9.2 lbs with an OS 120. I wouldn't power it with anything less.
Take a look at the Yellow Aircraft 60 size aerobatic planes for your Saito 100. Very high quality ARF IMO.

I have the .60 Extra sold by AK.Not sure who built it.Its a decent plane for the money(hardware is junk).I put a Magnum .91 2 stroke with a pitts muffler. Its pretty stable in the air and tracks ok too.To get crisp aerobatics,I had to crank the throws way up,but then it turns like a pylon racer.I have a skysport radio w/out dual rates.I think that plane w/ the 1.00 and a dual rate radio would make a decent package at a decent price.BTW,the landing gear are for perfect landings only.
