Thats cool ! I still haven't even started[
] because of other projects but I did pick up a Super Tiger 2300 for it. Did you use the wire landing gear and just put in bigger blocks in the fuse?

I left it all stock. The blocks are a bit too hard and the holes a bit too tight, so I cracked one. Slathered it down with epoxy and then re-drilled it. I wasn't too impressed with the pull-pull, either. Very little room for adjustment on that.
This winter I'll probably move the tank over the CG, and stick a smoke pump into it.

Everyone complained about the wire gear but I like that type for this style plane. It looked as if all was needed was to replace the blocks with a couple slightly larger ones. Does the plane do anything cool that you didn't expect? and are you using the quad flaps or crow as they call it? I have watched guys fly some models with crow set up and it is cool how slow the plane can fly.

No idea what the weight is. I'm amazed at how light the fuse is, where the wings are a bit on the heavy side. The wire gear seems fine. I can't imagine landing hard enough to bend it without doing other damage, just because of how light the wing loading is. Very slow landings! I haven't flown mine enough to do more than begin getting to know it, but I did do just a tiny bit of knife edge yesterday. I was surprised at how neutral it was, but we'll see what it's like on a calmer day. I've had it at the field twice, and each trip was a spur of the moment thing. I've still got to get crow programmed. I've played around with the flaps and have a small bit of tweaking to do.

Ya I'm thinking that setting up the crow would take a little time to figure out. When this plane came out it was considered a 3D plane but not compared to todays 3D planes. I don't expect to much on that end but it must be a blast to fly with those thick wings. I bet with that YS 110 you hit a great combination of good power with a light wing loading which always makes for the best fun. What did you use for servo's ? Please don't say your using $100 servo's because I'm cheap and was wondering what others are getting away with for servo power
You have me thinking about getting this one done first now

I used JR 821s on most of the surfaces, with a 4721 on the rudder. I really like the 821s for glow planes. I've been buying them up off RCG at about $20 each, sometimes less. While the control surfaces are large, they're split up with four servos on the wing and three on the tail. I figure between that and the slower speeds I'm not pushing the 821s too much. I do need to re-think my receiver battery. I went with a 6v, 2,000mah NiMH pack. I'm a bit concerned that the 8 servos will draw that down faster than I'd like, so I'm thinking of going with two $15 Lipos from Hobby City. I probably don't need to do that. I have a feeling my pull-pull lines are too tight, and that my rudder servo is drawing more juice than it should. If I get around to putting a good, adjustable pull-pull into it this winter that might resolve my concerns.
I was a little leery of the wing attachment, but it's working fine for me. I'd suggest having a good look at the glue joints you can reach in the fuse. A few of mine needed some extra attention.

I am thinking of this plane mainly the because of the price.
I am wondering has anyone put a DLE 20 or 30 on this plane.
I'm more into the funfly type of flying.
I have a 30cc Goldwing MX but nowdays with the price of her being well over 400 dollars, IT maynot be be my daily flyer. I also have a small private runway that I fly off of and like the Ideal of crow.
My favorite daily plane I fly is a twist but with the price of nitro I'm slowly switching my fleet over to gas
