On mine I have kept the balsa push rod and the 2mm Y push rod. I didn’t use the heat shrink, but instead bound he push rods with twine and then soaked the whole thing in CA. This has proved to give a very stiff Y connection. I did the same at the other end to the servo. I didn’t use the 90 degree bends to the servo arm replacing it with a clevis. I think that the 90 degree bend stuff in control links are weakening the push rod and can introduce slop.
