my model is still not finished yet (working on 4.2m sailplane which will fly on our yearly modelers meeting).
As I notices during trial fit - will be necessary to move everything as far forward as possible.

Hi Folks,
I haven"t had any problem with balancing the Extra.Believe it or not, when we put it onto the GP bal.machine, to my great surprise the cg was right on the foremost marking! My engine is a Fuji 50 EI, wich is quite heavy/2 kg/,So far that was the easyest balancing I"ve ever had.

My engine is ZDZ40 - a much lighter than Fuji (ab. 1.5kg with muffler), so I've to install all batteries in the front.
Btw, do you have any problems with Tower Pro MG995 servo? I used it for rudder.

Hi Marek,
You are absoutely right.Just don"t forget about the rf noise.I mean you "ve to place the receiver at least 30cm far from the ignition unit.By the way, can you send me a picture of your big glider?/'[email protected]/I"m really keen on for gliders,

haha... ok, I'll tell you about maiden flight after the August 1-st (I'm going for international modelers picnic we organize in Poland)
Extra needs to wait until I finish my glider. There's 2 weeks to the picnic, so there's no time for Extra at the moment

Hi Everyone,
I have been looking at the CMPro 330L in the hobby shop.
Since it is approx a 2m x 2m model I was wondering what size props you are using?
I don't have a 40-50cc gas engine but I do have a Supre Tigre 2300 methanol motor.
This will turn a 18x12n ACP prop 6600-6800....lots of nitro 15-20%....use for pattern flying.
I wonder whether this will be enough to fly the plane..I note the very wide fuse.
regards Hanns

Hi OZ,
I used to have the Cmpro Extra 300 S with the st 2300,the performace was just OK.The 330 L needs at least a 40 cm gasser according the manual.I"m using aFuji 50 El on this.Using of a glow engine in this size of airplanes is not economical at all.I can fly 32+ min. with my gasser on only 75 cm gas with a slightly rich high and low needle valve. And the gasser is simply more powerful with bigger props/in my case 21x10 Mejzlik/

Hi georgee, I had the cmp extra 300 s too but crashed it. It was a very hard plane to fly (For me any way) . I am thinking of purchasing the 330l. Is it easier to fly than the 300s?

Hi Chad,
I sold the plane because of the 33ol.I liked the33os very much.It was easy to
fly.I was tired of buying the huge amount of Cool Power so I wanted a bigger
plane with gas engine. In your case maybe something was not in order. The
correct cg. is essential.
Some people says its too hot at landings, yeah if its extremly nose heavy. If
you feel it uncontrollable maybe extr.tail heavy. Its really important to
make the first flights on low rate with a lot of expo.I could land it in almost a 3Dway.Very
slowly. The 33ol the same stUff .Easy to fly, really cool in the air.Just
dont give up.Go to the store, buy one.If you have any questions feel free to
ask me.

Hello Georgee,
I am about to start building my CMP 330L... nicely finished ARF and have a DZY48 motor to go in it (see www.dzypower.com). I would like to know what your servo/ receiver/battery setup is....what kg servos, twin batteries, switch &/or switches Etc. you are using.
thanks,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Howdy, Down Under?Well, ,my setup is: Receiver, Hitec HF 07rd Qpcm, one 5x2500mah receiver akku, one 5x2300mah ignition pack, 2xFutaba Hd switches,Hitec Hs 525 throttle servo, 4x Hs 475Hb for ailerons and elevator halves,1x Hs645 Mg for rudder. These seervos are more than enough.
I know a dude who uses Fut 3003 servos for every function, and He is satisfied with this setup.
So if you finished the plane pls. tell us your opinion about this stuff.

Hi Georgee,
Thanks for the info on your setup, I will most likely use Futaba 9252 servos for all but throttle as I have them spare.
What do you think of the way the canopy/cockpit assembly is fitted....limits regular access to gear. Have you mounted charging plugs to the outsite so regular access to gear is not required?

Your welcome Wayne,
As for the canopy stuff is concerned, I have installed it with 4 M3 screw to make it removeable.I have mounted charging plugs to the outside,so I can check the gear in an easy way.

Greetings from Australia................My experiences revealed the engine box mounting ply to be of very poor quality and replaced it. the fuselarge firewall is to thin and after mounting the engine it flexed too much. I added two vertical reinforcing ribs inside the firewall.
The rudder horns I cut off the suppied hinge to allow more throw and fitted new horns. Careful using the bare wire for the pull-pull rudder...best to replace with plastic coated wire to minimise possible radio problems from rubbing wires.
The fibre classing is generally first class......................the finished flying weight less fuel on my plane is 6.72 kg or 14.81 lbs.

My Extra was maidened yesterday. Estimated weight is ab. 6.5kg. ZDZ40 motor with 22x8 wooden prop.
Flies very stable like on rails. Stall test surprised me: Extra just drops the nose. Landings are long because of speed. Too sensitive on elevator (factory settings are bit too high). Overall - very nice model
Georgee, you asked about maiden flight of my glider: it flies smooth and gentle - just like glider should fly

Hi Marek,
Welcome to the club, congratulation for your maiden flight. As for the long landings, you should slow down the ship during the final approaches/down wind leg/ This way you could land it slower. It wont tipstall at all.Anyway Its an easy to fly ship .
Please send me a pair of pictures of yor glider. My next project is going to be a huge glider.
Best regards,
George

Hi
Finally, I'm after a few flights. Now, I know, how to slow down my Extra just before nice 3 point landing
Here are some pictures of my glider:

The first one from the bottom:

Again the first one (and myself with blue shorts)

My ASW on the final
