Turn your EPA's down & dial up the expo, use dual rates also keep'em on the low side as not to throw those big barn door ailerons around.
5" should work well as a starting point might even want to be more conservative and go 4 1/2-3/4
good luck!

I think someone either on this forum or the other forum listed the point at 150 mm I believe. Do a search on both sites. I set mine at this same point and it flies great. Can fly and land like a trainer or on high rates fly wild as h_ _ _!

Twist 60 no more!
Well I got to cocky to soon thinking I was ready to start doing 3D manuevers and the plane disagreed and won. It hit the turf in a blaze of glory. It also wrecked everything except the receiver, battery and engine less the ruined carb. Nothing else servived the crash. I ordered a Twist 150 after the crash and now it is ready for it's Maiden flight. I showed you a picture of the precrashed Twist 60 and here she is in a barrel. Out with the old in with the new.

outacontrol41,
I have been trying on my G3.5 but it is so hard to do. I can hover but keeping it in the cicle of death is impossible for me right now. I think I'm sticking to just flying and doing simple manuevers this year and after pacticing on the Sim all Winter maybe after my fingers are back in the groove in the Spring I'll try the real thing at about 75'. I started a new thread for the 150 because nobody else did. I hope people read it and it catches on so I can hear what everyone has to say about theirs. It seems like it isn't a very popular Twist. Seems like everyone likes the 40 and 60 instead.[]

In the coming week or two, I'll get my neighbor to video me hovering my twist 60 and I'll try to figure out how to post it in the RCU members video gallery....hope it's not too hard. On a calm evening I have hovered over a full minute about 15 feet off the deck. Never could do that with my 40.
I'm expecting the next twist to come to be a giant scale for a DA50! They just keep getting bigger!

Jomamma,
I use a 6 Volt battery pack in all my planes. I use the 2000 MaH NiMH batteries with a MPI charging switch with indidcator LED's to let you know how much juice is still left

Any of you guys running a Tower .75 on a .60 Twist? I have one to get me by until I can get a nice Saito..
What is your opinion of the plane with the .75?

My Twist 60 is happily running on O.S. .90 four stroke and doesn't have a lot of power to spare...but will hover it at 1/2 throttle. I'd never put a Tower Hobbies engine into anything. I have a .46 and it's a highly unreliable engine. Put it in your old beat around plane and take your chances. My opinion: O.S. rules the two stroke glow world and Saito rules the four stroke glow world.

RE: Twist 3D 60 ARF
I just picked up my Saito 100 and noticed that the prop washer will be about 5.25" from the firewall and not 5" like the manual says. Thats with the carb screws almost against the back of the mount. Anybody else had this problem? I dont have much choice with the current engine mount. I was wondering if it made any difference or if I ought to look for a different mount maybe? Help . . . Thanks.

Mine has a .75 AX on it. It has TONS of power.. I am using a 13x6 Master Airscrew prop. It flies good, balanced perfectly (according to balance point in instructions) with no weight on the back.
It takes about 8 feet or less for this plane to leave the ground if you stab the throttle, and has tons of vertical power. You won't be disappointed with it. It also has decent low speed characteristics for 3d stuff as long as you get the tune right, which in my experience is a walk in the park with OS engines.

RE: Twist 3D 60 ARF
Well gents I really like all the input everyone added to this post. But with all the CG problems (Every person) has had with this Twist 60 not once ,unless I missed it did I read MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR ENGINE FOR 1%DOWN AND 2%TO THE RIGHT!!!!!!!Now I set my cg at 6 like all the rest of you, took it up and flew way tail heavy in fact too tail heavy, so bad didn't want to land , nose up. Brought plane home and took a good look at the engine!!! I thought the fuse and mounts would be set from factory for the engine so I never looked WRONG. My engine was straight ahead and a touch up. I added two washers behind mount to top right bolt, looking at engine from the front, one to top left and one to bottom right. This gave my engine 2% right and 1% down. Set my CG at 5 1/2,now the plane flies like it should. If you have to go tail heavy to hang it on the prop or hover you need more practice. Its not worth loosing a plane making it so it flies around dragging its tail just so you dont have to learn how to hover right, then cant land it right. Just my input on this, but I bet anything 75% of the 60 s engine are mounted wrong, there is a thrust line and is way more important than one half inch c g either way. good luck..Oh saito 125 on her.

This same principle applies to the Twist 150...I own 60 and 150. I added washers for inceased thrust right and down. Set at 5.75'' from LE but yet still flies straight AND it hovers well. The difference is you now make it go into a hover instead of the tail constantly falling down and making it's own mind up to hover. The best of both worlds.

I have a .40 twist (#2) and am wondering if the fuse on the. 60 has the same weakness as the .40? I dont see people complaining about that problem with the .60 Twist.
Thanks,

Hello everyone,
I have the twist PNP. The coolest plane I have flown. Im now going to get the 60 size, have a OS 65 Is this enough power to hoover and pull out some what quick? and what would be a good prop?

Has everyone forgot about this thread or just migrated over to the T___t 40. I just picked up a T___t 60 and am trying now to buy an OS .91 FX to bolt on her. I know its a little overkill but its not too much power till it rips the airframe apart.
