World Models Utimate 40 would be fun with that motor - just make sure that you re-glue ALL of the joints as their glue work leaves just about everything to be desired.

They do fly really well and if you are going from sealed runways they shouldn't be too much of a problem. Ours flew nicely & with a Saito 72 in it at the end it was quite a performer. Unfortunately the grass runways that we had in Oz caused a few issues with things like the landing gear and firewall if we didn't get the landing perfect - in the end it just wasn't worth rebuilding after a reasonably hard landing (Not a crash by any stretch of the imagination). There was a couple at Fort Bend where I had the joy of flying over the past year or so and they didn't seem to have much problem there but the runways are paved at that great facility.

I have a biplane called a "Tiger Bipe". I have a supertiger .40 on it and it is quite fun to fly. fits in the car assembled. i forget who makes it, but there are otehr people who have it also. very sound aircraft.

Hay JuiceGoose,
Cedar Hobbies has a stick biplane and it's cheap. I built the old Midwest stick biplane and it was a great flyer. Easy access to everything and it will spin up a storm.
By the way, I did buy the Cedar twin strick and it was very well built and happy with the kit. Cedar also has excellent Customer service and replacement parts.
I know the ugly stick models kind of look all the same...but they have been around for over 35 years. I had the fist Jensen ugly stick, and have built all the Midwest versions. All flew very well and were a blast to fly.
Soft landings always,
Bobby of Maui

Kyosho make both a PT 17 Stearman and a Tiger Moth in .40 size. Bot are ARF's.
I used to have the Stearman powered by a Thunder TIger .54 4 stroke, (until some sod from "Midnight Models" decided he like it. Wonder how much he got for it on E-BAY?) and it was a nice model to fly after it had been trimmed out.

KYOSHO no longer makes those bipes. At least they're no longer listed on the KYOSHO website and the local dealers says all the designs from last year were discontinued because KYOSHO wasn't getting quality production from their suppliers.
KYOSHO offers an entirely new line this year, but only a few are available so far and no bipes.
BTW, the World Models 40S Ultimate is a good "40 size" biplane. It is actually a 30 size design that didn't sell with that label, so they changed the label. And now people are putting 46s and larger on it. I've got an OS46AX on mine, and the next one I assemble is going to get an OS40FX. And will probably be a better airplane for it.

Like the World Models plane, this one only recommends a .50 class four stroke.
Since this is a WWI model it’s probably not very aerobatic.

i'm sure you can find a pitts bipe on ebay for sale. i think there are few of them coming out of China these days. i don't know much about the quality but it looks fine.
as for me, i've got the WM Ultimate 40S and have owned the WM Ultimate 30. The 30 was an awsome bipe that tore up the sky with uncanny precision yet rolled and spun with the best of them. The 40S is still NIB. loved my WM bipe with the original Blue Hawk Red White and Blue and prefer that over the current TOC covering.

Tiger Bipe I think is an ARF version of an old GP super sportster bipe. Flies pretty well, but needed some speed for landing.
I have seen them both side by side and they look identical
