fOUND OUT THIS NEW CESSNA 182 WITH 83´ WINGSPAN AT NITROPLANES.COM, IT´S A CMP MODEL THAT LOOKS BETTER THAN THE SMALL 63 INCH VERSION. IT LOOKS KIND OF SIMILAR TO THE TOP FLITE VERSION (MINUS THE COWL AND WINDSHIELD). LET´S WAIT FOR THE QUALITY AND FLIGHT REPORT.

Thanks a lot !!!!!! I've already over extended my airplane budget for this year with the H-9 Camel. Looks like a winner. Maybe I can get an extra day at the freeway on ramp....

Lot of threads about Nitroplanes out there...Some good reports, some bad. I think it depends on which factory in China makes that particular model. Ever fly at Havre?

Your better off staying clear of Nitroplanes
Your better off staying clear of Nitroplanes
I agree with that suggestion.

Ziggy, please post pics tonight if you can and the observation i am looking
for is.... does the plane look as good in person or better than it does
on the website? If so im ordering one tomorrow! So far the only cheesy
looking item on the pics of the arf kit layed out is the plastic front strut
cover. Perhaps robart makes a working strut unit that will fit this bird.
Thanks, Airplaneman

Sorry, I don't have time for pictures tonight.
I will try to post tomorrow night.
Heck, I don't even have time to take the plane out of the box tonight...and it's a BIG box.

Perhaps somebody could tell me why the suggested engine(s) are so big. I flew a TopFlight 182 with an O.S. Surpass .91FS and it flew just fine. Take offs in thick grass were no problem and in the air it performed very scale like. As far as I can tell, it was about the same size, weight and wing loading as the CMP 182. So why do I need a larger engine? This is definitely not an aerobat like the Cessna 152. ???
Robart makes an excellent nose gear that will work on this. They have 2 models of Robo Strut. Get the Off-set one. It is very strong. I first had the full yoke one and found them to be very weak for this weight bird, landing in somewhat resistant grass.
Other than that, I am very skepticle of the CMP because of the low price. There seems to be a great deal of attention paid to design detail.......but ?. So, let us know how it is.
Thanx......Ol' Dutch

Possibly because the CMP has a higher wing loading (100 sq in less), it is suggested to use larger engines than the Top Flite kit built version.
Top Flite 182:
Wingspan: 81"
Wing area: 906sq.in.
Length: 64.5"
Weight: 10-12lbs.
Wing loading: 23-28 oz/sq.ft.
.61-.91 2-stroke or .91-1.20 4-stroke Engine
CMP 182:
Wingspan - 82.7"
Wing Area - 806sq.in
Length - 63"
Weight - 11.23lb- 11.67lb
Wing Loading - 32.24oz./sq.ft - 33.55oz./sq.ft (98~102 dm/2)
2 Stroke Engine - 108~120, 4 Stroke Engine - 120~140
