does anyones plane have a twist in the fuse i heard this was a ig problem when e.f. was selling them..........

That can be a problem on any ARF. I will let you know how mine looks tomorrow. First thing I do is put in tubes and check allignment. Then I'll check the control surfaces for hinging issues. Canopy etc. It's best to dry fit it right away.

my horz.stab. was misalign with the wing,and i reported to you guy's here on this thead that it was ok,the reason for that lie is, i did not want to bad mouth a guy's product until i could make him aware of the problem,but the good news is that he is standing behind his product 100%.i told him about it and rite away he said you want a new kit or a new fuse or a refund or i could fix the problem myself and be reimburse for the trouble. a very STAND UP GUY! and he said that the factory is standing behind the plane also and taking care of any problems. even the wing and aileron hinges not being align. i wanted a new fuse and he said it would be ship the next day. he said he was sorry for the trouble a number of times. i would buy another plane from him anytime. but like JOE said that can happen on any plane. sense they are being put togethere buy people being paid by the hour and not by a guy that is going to fly it.
sorry about the lie ,i just wanted everyone to know about the great service i got,.

How is the cowl mounted on this plane? Is it the same as the other company or did they get smart for the cowl ring yet?

No cowl ring still the conventional way. Easy enough though. Hopefully I will be able to maiden tomorrow. Need to put in the smoke pump and balance.

Good luck with the maiden bro, we need to see some pics and vids tho

you should not have any balancing issue, that's if you used DA50 with 2.5 stand offs and hang the ignition battery and the ignition as far on the engine box as possible and the RX battery just behind the fire wall, that's how I have mine mounted at and that without using any spinner and wooden prop with also no wheel pants and using the stock DA muffler (if you are using slimline muffler you might even be a bit on the nose heavy side, so if you mounted your batteries the way I had them mounted and used spinner or carbon fiber probe or both, then your CG should be spot on. mine is a bit on the tail heavy side, but she flies great there. bottom line is, don't sweat it trying to get the CG as per the manual, it could be more than an inch behind that and she will still fly great.

Don’t forget to range test please with the engine on and off.

Thanks for the good luck. I am trying the k1060 pipe for the first time. I also added a 24oz tank next to the other one for smoke. I will be putting the pump and a Fromeco 2400 for the pump up front to offset the pipes tail weight. What do you think? I will try to get some pictures on tomorrow.

ok so your setup is not as mine, the pipe will set your CG back a bit compared to stock or pitts muffler, so you will need as much weight as you could up front. and again, since you might end up having to put RX related stuff on the engine box, do a good range test with the engine on before flying, make sure you have a friend to help you out while range testing.

Hey guys,

Mine is due Friday. I have the E.F. 50cc Yak also.They should look pretty good side by side with the opposite color schemes. I will be using a DA 50 , MTW 75 can ,16 oz tank, 5945's on elevators and ailerons and a 8611 on the rudder.

i don't fill so bad now,sense i already have a 85" QQ yak. i gave it a lot of thought about one minute, if i realy needed another yak the only way i could justafy
it that this one has more wing area. can't wait till some flight reports come in and some RTFW.

Ok just unpacked it and I am so pleased....and I am a picky SOB. Professionally packed is an understatement. The quality is almost a 10/10....the only thing is I need to make sure the tubes line up. Also need to check the hinges. So far it's a serious deal IMO. Lots of Dubro hardware, almost everything is included for servo arms, horns, etc. Even has a pull pull setup included. For the price, you can't beat this. My BME Edge was the same price and didn't have much of this stuff. All up weight out of box is 9 pounds, 4 oz. That's every thing out of plastic. Also with so much included the weight is deceiving. My BME Edge was 10 pounds out of the box and didn't include much of this stuff and it was 17 pounds 3 oz with a DA 50 and Slimline boat anchor.

I could see this ARF coming is at 16 pounds at the MOST. 15 1/2 to 15 3/4 is more likely. They were very honest and accurate with their claimed weight. The covering and cowling are awesome.

Fuse 3 #
R wing 1# 2.4 oz (includes aileron)
L wing 1# 2.2 oz (includes aileron)
Canopy 8.6 oz
Cowling 10.2 oz
Rudder 3.4 oz
L stab 3.8 oz (inc elev)
R stab 3.7 oz (inc elev)
Wing tube 3.6 oz
Stab tube 0.5 oz
Gear 9.4 oz
pants 3.7 oz (both)
wheels 4.1 oz
Tail wheel 1.5 oz
fuel tank 3.3 oz
misc hw 7.4 oz
-------------------------------------------
9 pounds 4 oz

Again, just adding 7 pounds to get the all up weight is not accurate. There's too much included in the kit to use that number. It's more like add 6 1/2 pounds to get the all up weight. Without wheel pants this thing could easily be 15 1/2 pounds (and stock DA muffler).

Some more interesting pic's comparing BME's Edge stab to this Yak. I did look at the main wings too. I didn't take pic's but the Yak has a little larger wings...not by much though. That BME Edge is no slouch on wing area (but it is heavy at 17 pounds 3 oz, the Yak will almost be 1 1/2 pounds lighter).

vfalcon7 looking good bro, but one thing that got me thinking, with all of that fluid up in front of the wing tube, between take off and landing, your CG will change a lot (both tanks are full, then when they get empty during flight). you might wanna rethink that. for me, I have one 16oz fuel tank, and trust me I could easily feel the plane getting tail heavy once I go below 1/2 a tank, and in your case, you have 50oz. just a thought.

Hey CLosetguy,

Was thinking about your wingtube/stabtube alignment issue... I had a couple EF fuses I had to straighten as did several people. Because of the long ocean voyage, temperature and humidity changes, etc... it cause some of the fuses to exhibit this problem.

Truly it is an EASY fix... really easy. If you're happy with everything else... a little effort is all it'll take:

Install the gear, and the stab tube with most of the tube sticking out the “high end” (the side of the stab you want to bring down).

Block up the end of the fuse so it's off the table. (You might install the wingtube and weight the opposite side downa little so the fuse will want to twist rather than the gear spread

Weigh the stab tube down (acts as a lever) until it is the same distance OFF the other way (1/8” high goes 1/8” low) (Iused maybe 3-5 lbs of dumbell weights... whatever weight it takes to get there... should be no need to go overboard...

Spray the inside of the fuse tail, stringers and all up to to rudder tray lightly with water mist bottle.

Let soak for 15 minutes. Remist. Let sit for 15 minutes.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to slowly dry it back out. Then heat shrink the covering around the tail area taught.

Recheck… it may take a couple times to get it aligned perfectly...

In reality this isn't much different than planes that come with stabs that NEED glued in and require us to glue them in proper alignment to begin with... they've just done the hard part...
