Jackleg that was funny,,, LOL Those boys were having a good ol time,

Well I have been flying the T _ _ _ T on the G4 from the swap pages, I finally got the file imported in, now I just need to get the colors changed,, but it flys pretty dang close to the way mine handles, I'm quite impressed.

Jackleg,, don't get brave confused with stupid, brave has nothing to do with flying in high winds,,, only having one day a week to get out there once our season starts is the motivation behind that,, Every Saturday morning, wind rain or shine,, we fly. we will sit in the vans and wait for the rain to stop or slow to a drizzle then we all hop out and put our birds up until it starts getting heavy again all we can do is pray we don't crash as the rain starts to get heavy,, and now that I think about it, thats truly the only thing we haven't crashed in a Rain storm,, I think were so concerned about getting the plane back to get it out of the rain we have never crashed trying to land it... hmmmm

Link $4.99 wowo Bud's my favorite too that'll cost you $13.99 for an 18 pack up here.

Homebrewing........huh? I've been thinking alot about that lately. The only drawback I can think of is that it might have me spending way too much time in basement, away from my family, guzzling way too much beer, messing up that 4Star 60 kit I started way back when...................wait......what was I thinking!

Takes a few weeks to make beer. then you have a Several gallons to drink.. Start up cost are the most expensive. But arent as much as a new plane. And once you have all the Stuff to do it You can make hundred of gallons for alot less then what it cost to go buy it. lol And you can make it any way you like there are hundreds of different recipes. i can brew 5 gallons of beer for what it cost For one 12 pak of samuel adams.. Just something to do when your boared and cant go fly your TVV!$T.. Only takes a couple hours to brew a batch, most the time is spent waiting for it to ferment.. So not alot of time is involved or money..

Fun part is trying to make a beer that is just like the stuff you buy once you learn the Variables then its Easy.. Still working on a Corona Version getting close my version has just more alcohol in it..

But since i have all my Planes ready to Fly and the wind is howling at 50mph. There isnt much else i can do on the weekend.. No wife No kids just me with nothing better to do.

.......ok........so i'm cleaning my workshop and have a number of planes i'm bored with and have pulled the guts out of...........what now? rural america man.........shipping is a killer so ebay is out of the question......but these are too good to burn and require too much skill to give to anyone around here......especially a newbie! here's the list......pheonix seabee, u-can-do 60, RV4, some off-brand suhkoi, and a tired hirundo glow/glider.........any ideas?

now i have a huge pile of servos, receivers, and batteries to find homes for...........i'm thinking a fleet of scratch-built T_ _ _Ts....reverse-engineered from the original.........i know some of the T_ _ _ Taholics in this forum are fast approaching what might be considered a scratch-built plane in that they've crashed and rebuilt them so many times..........but i'm thinking a completely scratch-built (all balsa) T_ _ _ T is in order considering that i won't be buying anymore from those that provide such horrendous customer service.

Downtrodden Build a 50CC Size TVV!$T From Scratch that would be cool.. And put a DA 50 in it.. GO bigger Yea.. Or eveen A small one would be intresting .25 Size Something For the Parks....But it would have to be Just like the original in style.. That would be Very CooL ..And i know that people would be dieing to have one or the other.. On the other hand make it just a little different like give it wing tips and the backbone Sheeted that way it will be an improvment on the Desighn...

Oh yes and Happy 4th year to the TVV!$T thread..[sm=bananahead.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif][sm=bananahead.gif]

Alright DownT and T_ _ _ Ted between you both and RCcar that means there should be 3 more new designs and sizes To see. Waaaaahooooooo !!!

Just a safety note,,, My comrads and formation flying partners went to break in their 2 new motors together over the weekend,, they got together and started an OS 70 -4 stroke,, well the owner of that motor,,,, yes you guessed it,, Got his finger in there at WOT,, needless to say 7 stitches later and a day at the ER they were able to save the finger, I guess he shredded it pretty good though as he just couldn't get it out of the way fast enough,, so it struck 3 or 4 times Luckily the other Guys wife is an RN and happened to be home, so all the right moves were made to save the finger. My other friend never did get to break in his new 61. but our buddy is home to heal today instead of working and thought maybe he could finish his Neiuport 28 which is the plane that motor is going on,,, he didn't know if the bandage on his pointer finger would allow him to mono-cote well but I'm sure he will try one way or the other.

Not only is May motorcycle awareness month in these parts, but also Beware of RC flying objects month as well...

A good reminder to us all Waldo! Thanks. Waldo, do you have all the wing parts drawn out? Oh, and i too vote for a video or at the very least a pic with the OS .61FX mounted in it!

Happy Birthday T_ _ _ T forum!!! Naswifty.........now there's an attentive forum reader!!!!!

i started deconstruction of two T_ _ _ Ts and i'm getting pretty excited about this project. i pulled the drafting desk down from the attic and found my rapidographs........so plans are underway.

linkadrip......i like the idea of a .25-sized T_ _ _ T!!!! i wonder if i could somehow scan/reduce the plans i'm drafting?

twistedskies..........i'll email you some pics if you send me your email address.......or can i email pics through RCU (i never tried).

Here, here! Happy birthday to the forum that was the deciding factor in me getting the T^->t above other planes. No regrets, just a greater anticipation for what the next day of flying may hold.

The weather cooperated a bit this weekend up in Duluth. The morning had 15 - 25 mph gusts, but Sunday evening the winds died down to 10 - 5 mph. Got several flights on my t***t. The landing gear had broken off completely a few weeks ago and the epoxy held up for a few landing then she broke again. I put 5min epoxy on her and after 20 min took her up a few more times, then of course on the last landing she tore out again. I ended up removing the entire top plate and will start to rebuild that area with reinforcements tonight. I'll go to nylon screws to hold the landing gear on so they would give out first on a rough landing.

I bought the PNP so it came with a .46nt evolution. The engine has been running great, but know trying to tune her is a beast. The problem I am having is that when I give her full throttle and hold her up she wants to die. I've tried to richen and leaning her up several times, but with no luck. I tried replacing my os #8 plug with an os #A3 but no luck. I have also tried using 10 % and 15% both with 20% oil. The engine idles great and will transition perfectly on the ground but not up in the air. I have gone through and checked the gas tank, installed new fuel lines in the tank and to the engine and muffler. The frustrating thing is she ran perfectly one weekend ago and i never touched any of the setting on the engine. I did notice that their is a bit of fuel/oil build up on the rear of the engine back plate, i checked the seal and it was fine and re-tighten her up. Any ideas? OH one more thing I took out the baffle because she doesn't run right with it in.

Thanks in advanced,
Kassun

Kasson You pretty much mentioned anything I would have told you to do,,, Did you take the needle valve completely out and blow through the muffler lline to clear out any possible small piece of debri in the needle area, and the other thing you may need to do is adjust the air needle, But I would blow through the lines with the fuel needle completely out first. your copper tubing didn't get pinched did it? if it seems hard to blow through or you don't see a stream shooting out the needle valve hole then you have got a clog somewhere, I usually just hook my electric fuel pump up to the muffler line and blow gas in from that line, that usually will assure great pressure and can pop whatever might be in the needle valve (if anything) free without hesitation.

DownT, I have a template of everything I needed for the wing, When I made my wing plan I just started with a nice straight 4' line as the leading edge then took my wing tip and made the template and marked the front an rear locations on the LE and TE then I measured inside 3/32 all the way around the wing tip template to create the rib template ,, which also allows for the sheeting later, Anyway I have both (I was smart enough to save them this time and not install them on the plane) I can send you a pic of anything and give you the exact measurements, and all you have to do is blow it up and print it until the pic matches the measurements needed. Or as my Wife would say, I could just mail it,, (she works for the post office LOL) Let me know what ever you need and we'll see what we can do,,,, anything for the cause..

I used a few different wood sizes for the spars and trailing edge as I couldn't get the size it actually was and I didn't want to wait.. it was only a 1/16 difference between the pieces needed and what I have

Drawing it to a different scale is as easy as grabbing a good triangular mechanical drawing ruler and picking your size.

This wing is probably the easiest wing to build ever, its all straight pieces and 1 rib design and size, I've never made a template for the fuse design as I have only repaired all of it and wasn't making them in quantities. But thats easy enough to do if you have a frame laying around. just copy it.

....."just copy it"..........he says...............like it's an easy thing to do........the factory joints are easy enough to pull apart (some kind of inferior glue), but the ones I reinforced or repaired are something else!!!!! But, I'm almost 1/4 of the way done with the fuse. I'm using 8.5x11 paper and indexing the tiles as I draw them out.......this way I should be able to email jpg files and one could print them out and then reassemble them as needed....... (Of course it would be against the law to profit from such an endeavour that's why they'd be free for the asking)

Oh, and I'm thinking about making a plaster of paris mold for the canopy.......all I need to find is a suitable material for vacuum forming.

LOL your a funny man Yes i found it very easy to COPY it once you peel the skin back everything and anything is just a measurement away...unless of course its a crushed frame then some minor assembly work may need to be in order before you can figure it out,,, LOL

the grid work is an excellent idea I was going to try the vacuum bag on forming the sheeting around the fuse on my mustang, I don't know how it will work though,, could be kind of tricky... but a good material will be needed for forming a canopy now thats something we should really look into..every canopy I have for that ird splits from the g forces i think, If I glued it it probably wouldn't be a problem,, but I like the ol 4 or 5 screws to hold it on method.

Keep pluggin away man,, sounds great so far,,, any pics to go with that??

If you haven't removed the limiters yet, Take them off & throw them, Also take the baffle plate out of the muffler (be sure & loctite or HT silicone it when you put it back together) then you should be able to tune it. I have 1 - .455, 3 - .46s & 2 - .61s & they all run great. One more thing - make sure the pressure fitting in the muffler isn't plugged with something( I had that happen on mine once). Never mind the baffle part I just saw where you took it out.

Twistedskies.........I don't think you'll want to ship these boys as they'll cost you an arm and a leg........I even tried to see if my sister in Williamston was coming up any time soon to bring them back.......no luck.

Wow Sounds like everyone is BUsy Busy Bees.. I think the TVV!$T .25 park flyer would be realy cool Downtrodden.. All you have to do to keep it from being against the law to profit from such an endeavour. Would be change the desighn a little add wing tips and sheet the backbone make the canopy a little different as long as its not exactly like a Copyrighted Plane. But i like the idea of free.. Dont here that very much anymore, seems nothing is free. I'm still blown away buy my neighbor giving me free Rc stuff..

My .46 evolution engine didnt run right till i removed the limiter and baffle. I would tune it and it would run great then the next day it wouldnt run hardly at all. the limiter on the engine moves from vibration and changes the Settings.. After its removed you shouldnt have that problem anymore. Mine runs great now just need something to put it on.. Was thinking of getting a cheap profile plane if there is such a thing..
