kassun:

Richen the main needle. Leaning it will make it worse. Make sure you don't have any oil/fuel dripping out of the exhaust anywhere. If so, you're losing tank pressure (basically your fuel pump).

Also, I never had ANY luck with anything except the hangar 9 2-cycle super plug in my Evolution engines. Try one of those and see where it gets you.

Waldo still no start up on that OS 61 WE're all waiting for the report. On mine it looks as if I'm going to need a 3rd line to fuel her with. does any 1 have any pic's of the fuel line route on an OS 61 on a T---T 40

Well here we are the first of April and I have yet to fly. I am going to go crazy here soon, I already have the I LOVE ME COAT ready to tie up. (you know the jacket that makes you hug yourself). I thought that today I maight get out to the field but we are having 40mph winds here today. I guess there is only one thing for me to do now is to sell out all my planes for just mere pennies. APRIL FOOLS!

Kerwin dont know if you can see the fuel lines in these pics but maybe i just pull the main feed line off and fuel it then put it back on.. No third fuel line needed.

There's nothing like waking up to a foot of the ugly white stuff covering everything! @$#^%$#%^$#@^%# My daughter just informed me that I'll have to use the snowblower to get to the car.

Waldo..........O.S. MAX [sm=confused.gif]? Don't you mean O.S. FX ? We wouldn't want to mislead anyone and have them buy one of those [:'(].............the max series O.S.'s I've had were similar to their L.A. line.......horrendous [:'(]. Poorly machined (sloppy tolerances) and gutless [:'(]. That is my humble opinion....anyway. Tracing turns out to be alot easier than drawing these parts, but I'll have to make templates out of sheet copper to maintain accuracy. I'm going to include a scan of one of the pages and have you print it out and check it for accuracy....ok? (The landing gear reinforcing block is drawn full scale.)

I printed out the attachment to this post and found that it DOES NOT REPRODUCE TO SCALE ........SO DON'T USE IT!!!! Any ideas how we can send these accurately? Anyone?

Hey Downtrodden, I just looked on the map to see where you are here in Michigan, I am a little jealous. I do a big snowmobile trip from Paradise to your back door every year. I know the feeling of waking up to that. We are tied for the 4th snowiest winter down here so I know you guys are really gettin the snow there too. I am actuallu thinking of a trip to the U.P this summer, probably just to the falls maybe Munising or even Copper Harbor. I am going to get out into the shop now for a little break in session even though all of my planes are broke in pretty much just want to hear them run.

LOL The weather rocks, never know whats going to happen. I personally love the weather, keeps most people at home and lets you really enjoy yourself. Besides, the planes fly so much nicer in cooler weather.. Wind has been keeping flying to a minimum though.. Going to head out now and see if I can get in some time, between gusts..

Nice day today got 5 Flights in on the TVV!$T 40. Flew alot differen't this time with no wind.. I'm use to have a little wind i guess goes super fast without any wind. I estimate I got it up to at least 70MPH at 3/4 throttle still to chicken to Go full throttle..Would be neat to have a radar gun an find out just how fast it really is going.. my wing Covering is starting to lift. Have to break out the iron and start ironing the covering back down. So i guess i'm actually peeling the Skin off it.. Very hard to slow it down For a landing have to flair big time and harrier To land pretty scary[sm=omg_smile.gif]thought it was a gonner for a second... The 150 Flys like a bomber lol comapered to the 40.

Excellent Link,, glad to hear the flight reports,, and yes I'll bet the 150 does fly like a bomber compared LOL well congrats on saving her and peeling the skin off is a great thing,, keeps the ol ticker moving for sure...

DownT, I thought the pics look great and I'm going to print it and bring it to work and see if I can bring it to actual size,, maybe you can even load it into the paint program and blow it up or shrink it to any size you need just by adjusting he pixels.. I'll try that too.

and I thought OS Max was the company and FX / AX / LA were all the model types,,, I've been using OS since I was 8 and always called it OS Max,, talk about feeling like a moron.... LOL I'm still learning something new every day,,, thanks for stopping me from sounding like an idiot any longer on that subject,,,,,oh I forgot,,,,, too late,,,,, damn 70's [:-][sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Link so your input is the 150 is easier to fly than the 40? I would think that the 150 would come in a little hotter, I have both myself too but have not got to maiden the 150 yet.

TVV!$Ted

No they both pretty much land the same the 150 does come in hotter it has more weight. But flying in the air the 150, mine anyway Just flys around like a bomber. But i havent Flown it with the new pitts Muffler yet and the 3 blade prop So i'm sure it's going to fly different then it did. But so far it's way slower then the 40 with the O.S. .61FX with that macs tuned pipe on there it screams. I havent checked the max RPM but i know its way over 10000 Rpm. and the 150's Max rpm on the gas 26CC is only 8800 RPM Full throttle. At 3/4 throttle the 40 must be putting out almost 15000 or more. I'm afraid to max it out even on the ground it just sounds scary..and is very loud my neighbors hate it i get all kinds of dirty looks when i fire it up. But i have to say i enjoy flying it. the 150 has only 4 flights on it. So it may get better as the engine gets broke in.. I'm experimenting with props eventually i will find a prop that works good with the 150 and it will go faster i'm hoping.

I was just wondering, I know my 40 pretty much floats in at idle and damn near harriers right to touch down. It did take me awhile to get the idle right to slow that demon down enough to hit the run way. I cant wait to get out to fly the 150, she has about 3/4 gallon of fuel through the brand new engine so I think its time for the air now that all the tuning is good or at least it is now. I have been in the garage with it tuning so I am sure I will have to make little adjustments when it warms up a little. I have measured about 19lbs of thrust out of the big tigre on 10%, and she idles perfectly with that 4 stroke plug. I have read alot about others with ideling problems and I took it all to heart and did all the recommended things and let me say that I am really impressed with its performance on the ground so I am sure it will fly great also. I cant wait to hear your report Link about how that 3 blade prop works for you.

Anyone have any knowledge of the OS 70 4 stroke? I am looking at one for my Mojo........... Very low budget, so Saito is out of the question at this pointl.

Binky for your MOJO why I have the OS 70 - 4 stroke on my 40 size T_ _ _ T as we speak,,I swing a 14 x 4 and a 13x5 for 3d and a 12x8 for speed, I've been running that motor on my bird for 2 -3 years now, never have had a problem,, well worth every last penny spent on it, I have been torn about taking it off the T_ _ _ T because I love it so much, but I just had to go buy the 61 FX after all the talk about it, so I did, I'm going to put the 70 on my Ultimate Bipe which is a great flying plane but is long over do for an upgrade, I have been using an OS 46 LA on that for about 4 years now and its a great motor but doesn't have the zest the bipe deserves. I can see the 70 will be an awesome upgrade for the bipe,, but man let me tell you the 40 size T _ _ _ T does fly pretty awesome with it too, unlimited vertical and is definitely one of the fastest planes at our field, with the 61 on it I don't think anyone is going touch the speed though. especially once it disintegrates the plane and the 61 is left flying across the sky by itself[>:]

2Hi2C oh I was there alright,,, [8D] where,,,,, I have no idea [:-]

Yeah Waldo, I am also waiting for you to put the OS 61 on your t---t and give us a comparision test.
I think a 25 size T---T would be great. The most important thing is keeping that airfoil. does any one know the airfoil number. If I had still had my book on model airplane design I could firgure the number out. It's been some years but the # reflects the length to thickness and where that thickness is at on the airfoil. The blunter the leading edge is the more gentler the stall, and more induced drag, while the sharper the leading edge is the less induced drag, but more radical the stall. That is why the T---T hairrers so well is her thick leading edged with a really thick airfoil.

Just be sure to bring your video camera with you for speed testing, Funny as all heck when the wings peel and it turns into a lawn dart... LOL Been there done that. Only takes the plane a few seconds to hit but the wing takes awhile to get down. Any who, always wondered how fast mine was going with the Magnum.52XLS. That motor is going in a Bobcat for pure speed, with 18,000 +rpms it should scream.

Greetings All,

This is a "what do you think" item. I have a .60 size T...T with no engine. [] I also have a Saito 120s with no plane. [] If I match these two up will the T...T hang in there without blowing completely up? I tend to fly three ways 1) conservative, 2) radical and 3)
ocassionally insane.[sm=bananahead.gif]

I think I will go with that OS 70 4 stroke.....thanks for the input........Saito is about 2 oz lighter, but for the money...... 2oz difference is $50 more. No comments on the oz prices LOL....... Will send pics when the Mojo is motorized.
