Well Plowboy there's no lot but there is 55 acres right beside me for 80K, Water,Electric, No Zoning laws and mostly timber. I'D love to have a T_ _ _Ter for a neighbor.
It would be a wonderful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day in the neighborhood, O won't you be my neighbor.
Yes good ole Mister Rogers, I wonder if he would of loved to have T_ _ _TERS in the neighborhood.

By the way, I think when they say 30% expo, they probably mean -30 don't they?
I don't know how Hitec does it any more. I had an Optic 6 but can't recall if - or + was more or less sensitive... Easiest way to check is to fire it up to 100% and see if it's super sensitive around center or seems to be really sluggish around center. The normal use for Expo, especially on a 3D type plane, is to calm down the controls around center so that you don't over-correct like crazy. If you go the wrong way, it'll be SUPER sensitive and likely hit the ground very quickly in an involuntary manner.

Tim, that makes perfect sense. Especially with the long servo horns we're using on these planes.
Seems like the geometry changes on the servo faster than on the surface. If we had 1:1 arm lengths (servo and tail surface), the expo would be taken out mechanically wouldn't it?

OK, I'm back!!
And found the pics of the crash last year.
Also have some info.
I tested the 12x4 prop on my TT with the stock muffler and with the Tower Muffler.
TT - 12x4 - Stock muffler = 12.400 rpms
TT - 12x4 - Tower Hobbies muffler = 12.900 rpms
Although a weird thing happened. After testing the TH muffler i turned the engine off. Tried it again and i spent about an hour and a half without bein able to start the engine again.
Not sure if i floded the engine, but got tired and went home. What i did so far i put the engine apart and cleaned it. What i've noticed is that there was gas inside the muffler and inside the engine istelf. I'm going to try again after it's cleaned. The plug was fine.
Prior to the test though I did freaked out when my prop spinner spined in the wrong direction. Anyways after that it started ok, but this was before i ran the test.
Do not enjoy the pictures

Whoo Hoo, what a great day for flying. Got 5 more flights on the T____t today and also got the DX7 installed and setup. Man, what a difference. Im thinking my prop issues are just due to the motor still not being broken in. I have 3/4 of a gallon through it and the vertical is getting better. I tried a 13x4 on the 70fs, and it didnt do much. Went back to the 13x6 and it did better. The vertical is still not enough to pull out of a hover, but every time I fly it, it seems to get a bit stronger. I will keep my fingers crossed. It would pull up high enough that it got hard to see, so that is saying something. Temps were 65 F and 0 to 5 mph wings. Finally got a kink in my neck after watching everyone at the club and also flying. Got 8 flights in today. The PTS is slowly taking a back seat to the T____t. Man am I glad I found this forum and discovered the fun of the T____t.

ZEEK double check your glow plug an maybe just replace it. The engine should of restarted unless it was tooo lean, or a weak glow plug. GOOD LUCK

Kerwin, 55 acres for only 80K?!! Dude write a check and hold that for me![&:] Is there any good bass fishin' nearby? With my luck it's probably a Superfund site or something.[:'(]
f_shawn68 you are so hooked now buddy![X(]
Good flying weather today. Got a few good ones in, just not feeling my MO-JO today.

Oh yeah, One of the guys maidened a very nice Skybolt bipe yesterday. Has a Saito 1.25 on it. Flew great all day yesterday and today until late this afternoon. Then he had a deadstick and tried to turn into the wind to get back to the runway. Instant stall! He spun in and tore it up pretty bad. Nice fella too. I felt bad for him.[

Well Waldo, tell us about the race. Was there any stragety involved? How did it work out?
I hope everyone had a great weekend of flying.

Plowboy there is some fair fishing around here. The property next to me was part of mine and it was also part of a family farm of 500 acres that when grand dad died they divided up.
It's mostly timber, but here in Daviess county land is fairly cheap. There was a 160 acres just to the west of me that had a nice little ranch style home 35 yrs old, with 3 ponds that went for 180 K.
We're a little over an hr away from Kansas City and there is nothing around here but small towns and no industry, all farmers. Thats why I wanted to retire here. It's CHEAP to live

How close is the nearest hospital and drug treatment facility........my wife and I would still need employment. Schools? You're not located on a flood plain are you? Wow, land is cheap there!

There is a small hospital 10 mins away, a drug treatment 45 min would be the closest otherwise an hr or so away. There are some floodplans but this is mostly the heart of farming, now if you go south towards Kansas City, or west towards St. Joesph the land starts going up.
I bought my 10 acres for 15K but just 35 minutes south it would of costed me 40K.
There's only minimum wage jobs unless your a nurse or work for the gov

Kerwin, 80k around here will get you a 6000 square foot lot and your house will be 6' from your neighbor. You don't want to know what we had to pay for 5 acres, most of which is not useable.

Zeek I didn't like looking at those Pics [sm=lol.gif] It looks very repairable if your into that sort of thing, anyway, it sounds to me like your flooding out for sure and maybe because of a bad glow plug. A quick way to find out is to tip up the plane and see if Gas pours out of the muffler, if it does then its definitely flooding, let all the gas come out of the muffler then try to fire it up again, if no results tip the plane again and see if fuel is still coming out of the muffler, if so then close the needle all the way and try to get it to fire or get some kind of life out of it, then once it does you can start opening the needle to a running point, if it still floods the plug is a good place to start. Good luck
Adam glad to hear you got in some flight time, excellent
I haven't flown My regular T_ _ _ T in about a month now so I'm itchin to get out there this Saturday, The Twipe and bwipe was fun as hell but it wasn't my good ol regular T_ _ _ T so thats all set to go for this week...
Plowboy Sounds like your getting in some good air time also AWESOME ! I've been working on the rolling harrier for years now,, I S_ _ _ !!!! LOL it happens sometimes, it doesn't,,, but never for very long even when it does, My OS 70 with a 14x4 had my T_ _ _ T doing inverted climbing flatspins when I first discovered the plane but after its 1st crash and even now i have never been able to do it again, I'm just wondering what other combo I had going at the time when it happened, and I could do it every time I wanted to but after that 1st crash never again, I even bought a T_ _ _ T # 2 last year which lasted 3 flights until its Mid air with a 4 Star but I couldn't get it to climb inverted before that crash either. so I don't know[sm=confused.gif]
...........
FShawn Congrats and I do believe were watching another T_ _ _ Taholic joining our force
I can't believe that the 70 isn't strong enough to pull that thing out of a hover, my 70 with any recommended prop is no prob pulling out of a hover or even going vertical until its gone from site, maybe its the altitude playing a small factor too, But at least I'm glad to hear its starting to get stronger for you. like you said keep it going and its getting better every time...
DownT Have you tried those Linear replacements out Nice find I'm going to see if our LHS has trhem in stock next time I'm there, but 1st ishould see what Servos I have a again I know I have some 3004 3003's and maybe even a few 148's If I do I'm trying it. Is it getting to be at least close to flying conditions for you yet????? C'mon get out there man....
Hey TimC, RCcar and Thew getting any flying in lately ?

Been flying? Yes, but not the T-_*t. Just my Stryker, Flatana and some Blade CP.
Since I hit the power wires it has been in a state of repair. Also got an AirfoilZ Edge 540 that I have been putting together.
Got home tonight and found my new T-%#T waiting for me. I got it from ABELLRC that someone mentioned on here. Still $99.00. I'll fix the other one but
just wanted to start fresh again. Probably just use the new wing cause I have the main frame repaired. So much flying, so little time to do it.
Is there a steel mill out by you Kerwin? If so, at that price I'd move out there. I wish I had your room to fly. Damn power wires! Reflexes at 39 don't help either.
My club lost their field but gained a new one even closer to where I live. It's at a boyscout camp. No audience there.[8D]
Waiting for the video Waldo.
Tried to upload some pitures but didn't take.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the will to go out and fly. I'd really like to fly the thing but can't bring myself to go out for just one plane. I still need to take care of some batteries for my other planes as well, which is naturally annoying.
Plus, my normal flying buddy seems like he's not exactly in a hurry to get out there either. I need to talk him into packing up one sunday so we can go after work and burn holes in the sky. lol.

Sorry Thew there's no steel plants around here, they closed them down.
I too have power lines to deal with. When I 1st move up here. The little wife wanted this 10 acre section that has alot of trees. and said we would buy the other 20 acres once our house sold in Kansas City. So I had our power line buried. WELL 3 weeks after we bought this place a guy buys the 20 acres that was goung to be myn flying field. and wouldn't you know it, He builds a house on it an NO BURIED powerlines.[X(]
This is how I became a T_ _ _TER and I got out of the large planes.
RC you can always come to my house to play. you're what 5 hrs away
Waldo I'm glad the derby went well. You now have 2 T_ _ _Ts to fly. I still can't get it out of my head what your flying buddy said about the T_ _ _T bipe and the ultimate.
Do you feel that the bwipe fly better than your ultimate. Is there anything that the ultimate can do better or easier than the bwipe.

Yeah Thew, Nice water toy for sure !!!!! and thats how the T_ _ _ T came to you in the box??[:@]
I think you should throw a T_ _ _ T wing on the V hull for sure,,, report back,, get video LOL
I think the Bwipe Kicks the Ultimates A%$ [>:]
LOL but remember the Ultimate is about 5 years old and has wrecked about 20 times and has much glue and replacement wood in it, the struts are loose, but it is still a pretty solid little plane, I'm sure with the 61 in there she will talk no problem, when I put my 70 on there I thought for sure it was going to perform well, but it didn't do much more then the .46 I don't think it was running right in that plane for some reason, so I put the ol motor back in her. and that is way under powered. Once that Bwipe took off I knew now Had a performance stunt bi plane that compares to no other I have ever flown. and I'll keep using the Ultimate as a Nice flyer, Its still fun to fly. But the Bwipe rules !!!!
My biggest problem, Ultimate bipe, P-51 Mustang, T_ _ _ T 40 all wanting the .61 in there and I only have 1 right now, so I'm constantly playing the swapping game. not that I can't get another I just haven't had the time, now that derby is over I hope to resolve some of those issues.
Still haven't had a chance to load the pics from the camera to the computer yet as yesterday was return all the derby stuff day and then finally at 10:00 last night I arrived home and put my air conditioner in as that was suppose to be my first priority yesterday. but its in now.
and go figure today is a round 95 while I bake here at work and we are under a tornado watch until 6 tonight, I think we are going to get pounded as their predicticting mostly Straight line winds up to 60 and severe thunderstorms and hail
I love storms...
