Hideho and good morning,
Well, I bought a Big Bingo with a Super Tiger 2500 at the RC expo the otherday and I need the CG if anyone remembers it.
I slapped the servos in it yesterday and It's now RTF.
Any tips before I maiden it?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I'm pretty sure CG is right on the spar. Will check this evening. I've got one with a Zenoha G45. Weighs 18 pounds! Kinda heavy but flys very nice. Just a good honest sport flyer. Keep a little power on for landing cause she slows down fast. Good luck.

I have one with a ST 3250 and it flys like a trainer and will land just as slow ,,but turn up the wick and it is a solid sport plane,,They are a little heavy(light plys and hardwoods instead of balsa),but thats what makes them tough,,I have landed dead stick alot because my fuel management ,,well ,,it sucks, so don't be afraid of the landings

I'm building one now, yes the CG is right on the spar. I had one about 5 years ago. I sold it, and then wished I hadn't. So i'm building another one. If you have any questions I have the plans and the instructions for the A/C.

Manual has CG on center of main spar. Recommended throws are rudder 1 elevator 3/4 ailerons 1/2. They also say not to cover in fabric. There are also some steel sheetmetal straps that go between the wing mounting bolts for integrity in high G moves.
My Bingo is easy to land too but it's not a floater like a 4 Star 120.

OOOH, I need those sheet metal straps...and the plane has 4 nylon bolts that hold the wing down...holes are a wee bit sloppy for my tastes so I'm going to metal bolts and blind nuts...I tend to fly on the "wild side".
Again, thanks,
Again, thanks,

Well hidedamm skippy ho!
I just got back from the garage where I fueled it up to see if that Big Cat would run...you know the apprehension when you buy a used engine...(what's wrong with it). So I tied the tail to a post in my garage with one of my weight bench cables, and closed the garage doors.
So, I got her all wet, flipped the 18X6 Zinger a few times to loosen her up and lit it up with glow...(jeese, this is starting to sound like one of my sisters romance novels)
Get this.
You won't believe this.
One flip
One damm skippy flip.
BRRRaaattt put bang putputput.......No kiddin'...serious as a heartattack here...ease up the throttle bbbrrriinnnggg jeese louise this bad boy is loud...up and down the throttle range, nary a hiccup or muffler fart. I tell ya I'm jumpin' around the dam garage whoopin' and hollerin' my family comes down to see whatinthehells the matter!
Too funny.
So, I've heard through the years that the Big Cats are problematic...what gives?
Where do they let you down?
So far I'm so impressed I want to go look for a ST 3250...I've seen them go for a song.
BTW, if any of you aren't going to use your wheelpants, I'll be needing them. Shoot me an PM or email and I'll take em' off your hands.
Looks like the maiden will be in the next day or so...really lookin' forward to this one....

I have a Big Bingo with a ST 3000 for motivation. Engine has always run well, except when the fuel filter was plugged once. It's a great running engine which produces moderate power. It gets just over 7000 RPM at full throttle. I use a 18 x 8 Zinger and for fuel I cut regular 5% sport fuel with equal amounts gas line de-icer. (we need this stuff up north). Makes for cheap fuel and I have never had any problems with under lublication. There must be over 20 gallons through it by now. It's a great flying sport flyer. If I had to do it over again I would chop two panels off each wing to improve the roll rate. The aluminum straps on mine look like pieces of aluminum siding with two holes drilled in them. I painted them to match the plane so they wouldn't be too obvious.

I have heard that the large OS carb does wonders for the power output of this engine but I have never tried it. I like the easy starting and extremely low and reliable idle that the stock carb gives.
You pays yourt money and you takes your chance.
The big carb route does sound tempting though, my Bingo is just kind of a big lazy dog, friendly and easy to get along with.
By the way, when hand starting the big ST, be sure to wear a welders glove or more; they can bite real bad.
Mine actually has this bad habit of starting backwards. I thought I got rid of that problem when I graduated from baby bees.
