Default DP Ultimate - Is it worth the wait?

By the way things are going, it will be the end of the year before DP models will be available.

Default DP Ultimate - Is it worth the wait?

The president of our club has one and it is a rush to see him fly it and i would wait for it.His is 12.5 lbs and has an os160 bisson muffler combo.Uses 4- 225 hi-tec servo,s to push the ailerons and 2-605s and 1-615mg to the tail surfaces all on pull pull.Used after market pull pull because DPs wire is pretty cheesy stuff.I wouldn,t use 225s but so far they are working great for him.

I'll be using a Saito 1.50 eventually. I'm now thinking I might head to the Toledo show. They are bound to have the models for that show. I'd get it quicker, but don't know what the boarder patrol will cost me.

Default You left out the YS 120!

The YS 120 is also an excellent choice! Probably the best b/c it is as powerful as the Saito 150, but lighter, and much lighter than the 1.80. Not to mention the incredible throttle responce! I'm working on an idea to make the YS smoke without adding any weight other than the smoke tank! What a site this plane is when its in the air!

Hmmm... Soft mounting the motor mount? Would that be good or bad in this plane?

I thought about the soft mount, but Sandy at DP said soft mount wasn't needed and the reviews on the plane didn't mention the soft mount. I went with the Saito, because it is a lot less money in Canada. It will be $2000.00 by the time I put it in the air as it is with engine, receiver and fast high torque servos.

Default YS120 Saito 150 Saito 180

On the post about the ys 120 and the weight of the two Saitos. FYI the Saito 150 weighs 890g and the 180 weighs 880g. They are both from the same case but mor metal has been removed to allow for the longer stroke of the 180. The crank of the 180 has less metal also. I have this plane and have flown it extensively with the OS 160fx and the Saito 180. Put the 180 in the plane and you will not be sorry, also don't worry about soft mounting it, it isn't needed with this engine. Break the engine in on a stand becuse that is when the idle is a little rough, after a tank of fuel it will start smoothing out and you will be good to go.

A modeler at my club site has one with a YZ120. It is awesome. It looks great on the ground and in the air. Not that I don't want one, I don't really, I'm into pattern now. I am still flying my old bipe(mind you it still looks almost new) a Pulsar, not too many of you would remember that one.

Default wait

I have one and it has been flown with a YS 120. I just ordered
a YS140L. That should really turn it into an awesome machine.
