I just noticed your post about the OS 20 Jim. How is that working out? What changes did you make to the firewall?

I made my own motor mount plate for KDA22-15m brushless, a 10x3.8 SF prop, 18 amp ESC, been flying with 3s 1700 mah battery. But intend to try a 1300mah next flight.

This set up provides more than enough power, and great flight times. This models flys really well, everyone is impressed with the model. The reason I want to try the smaller lighter battery is the plane tips onto it's nose when landing, on rough grass flying site. No damage, except cracked plastic cowl, just when it slows it noses over.

Put an Axi2212 in mine and it is now a 3D Fokker D7. It will do almost anything my 3D planes will do except hold a knife edge in level flight

Yes mine flies at half throttle, takes off before you know it, and will all but hover (probably will on 1300 battery).
The rudder is too small for a good knife edge.

I like to try to fly it more scale, but then it looks so good being thrown about [8D]

Hey Plane Jim

Don't you have to charge a receiver battery anyway?
I charge four lipos and take three or four electric planes to the flying site and fly for ages, OK it helps that at least one is usually and electric glider. It's no problem getting 15min flight time on the 1700mah battery in the Fokker, 1300mah should do 12mins easy, due to being a bit lighter.
