RE: New Great Planes Revolver
I just about done with mine. I installed a TT61Pro and I also found the cowl a bit tight, but it will go on there. Just keep working with it and dremel out enough for the head and the needle valve to fit. That helped some for me.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
BEAVER,
Sorry about your accident. I find myself doing all kinds of crazy things with this plane because it's so much fun to fly and it's almost indestructible in the air. Haven't torn the wings off yet even with full throttle snap rolls and the tightest pylon turns you've ever seen. To the wing tube ...you can order it for $9.49 US from Tower or if you have a local aluminum tube supplier it measures .70" (18mm) in dia. with a length of 18.75" (475mm.) and wall thickness of .037" ( 1mm). This is not a standard American size so it must be metric.
Good luck with the repair ...hope you're in the air real soon.
Joe

Thanks for that Joe,
Hadn't even done anything crazy yet.. pretty much just circuits, rolls and loops. Was going to practice my landings with it when the motor quit [&o] and got flipped ( na, didn't tip stall ) [:@]
Tough plane tho, seen others totalled in similar crashes.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Well I took my revolver out for a couple of flights today. I also took the video camera to get some Dopler readings. It looks like if I raced rcfan we would be neck and neck. I got 139mph out of a dive and 106mph straight and level. I am still having way to much fun with this plane!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
I had a revolver that tip stalled on a high mph cross wind. Damage was minimal considering the multiple cartwheels. While I intent to fix the plans and continue to use. I am currently building 2 other planes and flyiing a Harmon Rocket. The Harmon Rocket also balloons when landing, except this past weekend, I focussed on flying at a constant altitude, which required good stick control. I found my landings greased in on three consecutive flights, while I practiced the level flight. When I went back to airobatic flight, the landings, once again got rough. I recently read in an rc mag that extended level flight is the first step in aerobatic training. It seamed to make a difference in my landings. The greased landings with no bounce were great to witness and I now think the bounce has less to do with the plane and more to do with pilot skill.

While a good source for the main gear for the revolver is the dubro fiberglass gear, Another source option is to order a replacement gear for another similar plance and swap them out. I recently bought the Greatplanes tail gear for there 1.60 size yak for $1.89. Yes $1.89! It is quality spring steel, stout and installs by drilling single hole in the fuselage to accomodate a plastic sleeve.

Hiya,
All your answers can be found here... http://www.futabarc.com/faq/faq-7c.html
Your manual should also show you too. Generally all you do is input ailerons into channel 1 and 6 on your reciever and turn on/ activate flaperons. Now each aileron should work, but also your "flap knob" will also make the ailerons work as flaps too ( I'd deactivate the flap knob ).

Your manual will explain how to utilze two channels for your alerons in the flaperon section of the instructions. Left aleron in channel 1 and right is channel 6, on the futaba's 6 channel 2.4 transmitter.

The receiver is following what ever the transmitter signals. When you turn on the flaperon function, I believe the receiver automatically assigns channel six to be the slave on the six channel transmitter and it should function without further input. I found the manual to be straightforward with this direction. I do not have it with me to refer to the specific steps, sorry I can't help you further. Good luck!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
ok I figured it out in the flapperon. I put it to channel 6. And instead of leaving it on INH up in the right hand corner I put it to on, and wa la. Thanks guys it only took me about 5 hours in about the same amount of days, but I got it. Now I just have to wait till the snow melts which I think will be in about 6 more weeks and another two for a good dry out and Ill be ready. Getting the simulator next week, g4 should be a blast. that will keep me busy for awhile. hope it doesnt take me long to figure it out though. Also I havent replyed for a long time, been here pretty much from the begining of this subject, second family I guess. Not every day you get to open presents up (email forum replys) as one fellow put it. keep the videos comming guys I know I enjoy them. Just nice to now you dont have to go to another forum for a little help. Like I said second family. To the fellow who is being deployed you have a broken airplane to fix when you get back so take care of yourself and the others.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
I maidened my revolver this past Saturday. I have a TT61Pro swinging an APC 12x6. It flew very well, but I still have the engine set a bit rich so the speed wasn't as fast as I'd like. I'm going to see how a 12x7 does for speed. Great planes hit the nail on the head with this plane.
