Hi I just purchased my first plane, a j3 cub bl. anyways, I had it out for the first flight and had it up for a while then needless to say I wrecked it. I was trying to change out the shaft when I reallized I was sold the wrong one. I only realized it was wrong when the front, outer part of the motor cracked trying to make it fit, I was wondering if I could buy just that outer peice or if I have to replace the entire motor? any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I don't think anyone knows what you're talking about. We need more information...hwo manufactures the plane? is it electric? what motor/engine? who did you buy it from? Give them more info to go by, and you should get some help. Good luck.

It is a parkzone j3 cub brushless and I was wondering if I could buy just the outer part of the motor because the case cracked where the set screws hold it to the shaft.

I'm not too familar with that plane, but I don't think you'll be able to buy just the outer part or sometimes called the can I think. Those 370 motors are not very expensive. It would probably be best to replace the whole thing. Someone else might be able to give you a better definite answer. Good luck.

actually it came highly, highly, recommended by every plane person I talked to as an excellant first plane, the sign on it said great trainer! and I read a few magazine articles about what a great beginner planes they where. But if they are not a beginner plane I must have done very well to fly it for 20 minutes, doing touch and go's and a few tricks, unsupervised and my first time out. Until I lost sight of it that is!

the trick is to stay in sight by reducing throttle. as the batt dies you can increase power until the esc stops the motor then you glide in. you can fly longer by throttling back too. did you rog on TO? in the larger 4 channel market the cub is the hardest aircraft to take off and land it is used as a warbird trainer because you need to learn how to manage power and rudder at the same time. they ground loop like a b@@@. PZ has a nice line of planes try the stryker just dont fly full power for long after launch. It will fly easy 85mph at WOT. Slow it down and you will learn quick.
if you would have given all the info in the first post we can help a lot easier. go on horizon hobbys web site and they sell all the parts you neeed. you can get next day air (
) the way you posted it sounded like you just smashed into the ground ! did you have sim time

I am sorry but I do not know what rog is, I am assuming TO is take off. and sim time means simulator? if so I have played around a lot on one at the lhs before deciding to buy a plane. I don't remember what it was but it was a version 4. which just replaced the 3.5 simulator. Also I hit a brick wall of all things! I moved out of the way of a car in the road where I was practicing TO's and landings, when I moved the plane went behind a tree, I lost sight, and the plane hit the wall of the apartments I live in! I thought it was kind of funny! A brick wall of all things!

rise off ground. you need to find a open area with no obstuctions a soccer complex with paved lot would be great. you cant fly like that cause you will get in trouble and then your really screwed
