After two months of waiting, it's here! Looks really good, very scale, air foiled stabs, retracts included, and ready for retractable tail wheel. Still to excited to write, more later.

Well after the excitement has gone(almost) I have to correct myself on one thing. The tail wheel would be very easily made ready for a retract. The control rod is already run and the door would need to be modified(cut in two), but the door is already framed and there, it's just one piece. There is also a ply former to build from. The rest of the plane looks very nice, can't wait to start working on it.

twostroker,
Just wondering how things are with the Jug, as I'm looking at getting one... Likes? Dislikes? The one thing I thought about adding above what you mentioned would be flaps... the ailerons are much bigger than any other 47, so i thought of re-aligning them to add the flaps. Else I'd just use Flapperons.
any words you , or anyone with the MT p-47 have would be greatly taken
thanks

Picked up my 47 at Graves Hobby in Orlando, great price for an ARF this complete and scale looking. Finished Fuse to tail feathers and installed radio equipment / pushrods/tank and engine(Magnum 91 FS) in just over 4 hours. A record for me. This ARF is so thourghly designed for fast assembly,it is unbeleviable, the manual is clear and concise and each step has a bagged kit for it.
This is only the second ARF I have built in 19 years of modeling and now see why they are so popular,at least the Model Tech brand. Anyway, on to the wing and retracts. Hope to be airborne this week end. I will try flaperons as I hate to cut the wing.

This ARF looks pretty nice. However, I do not like the tiny main wheels. This is a 60 size warbird, so it should come with main wheels that are at least 3.25" in diameter. If you fly off a grass runway, then the included small wheels might pose a problem. I hate it when ARF manufacturers skimp out on the main wheels.
