I have just completed a build and test flown yesterday with a Zenoah G26 using a Zinger 17x6. I get 9700rps at full throtle and she flies great!

Were you using a standard Rx or PCM Rx?
I have found a Gaser will produce interference with a standard Rx.
No problems with a PCM.
If you are having trouble with a PCM Tx, you might want to try a crystal swap. I had a crystal go bad once and range check was very poor, much like yours.

Rodmad,
I noticed H9 quality control is slipping a little too. Specially with the Rudder tiller arm. Be sure to take your time and test before epoxing.
I had to pull my out and start over. In my kit, they should have made the tiller arm about 3/4" longer to fit properly as the manual states.
I built mine with a Zenoah G26, and found their measurements were a little off with the installation of the motor. I had to make the spacers approximately 1/4" longer for the spinner hub to clear the front of the cowling.
How is your coming along?

Im working on my H-9 Cessna Skylane. It's about 85% complete. I would like to do onboad stater and brakes, but the back pocket is beginning to hurt. I installed a G-38 with elec ignition. The motor tucks in well considering. I did need to cut out the bottom of the cowl some what more than I would like but I kept it minimal. It should be ready to fly within the next two weeks...too many projects going on at the moment. Im looking forward to the first flight. The scale work I did looks good however

What is the pitch of you 3 bladed prop? I'm curious.

I wanted to fly mine yesterday, but Thunderstorms kept me at home.
So I started my F-22 Raptor.
Using a Super Tigre 50 with tunned pipe and smoker. Thought it would be cool to satisfy my need for speed on the side! Lol

I believe the prop size of the 3 blade is 13/10-8. I will need to check it out again. The flight didn't go long. On take off the engine died. I was able to get her down with any damage. It appears the electronic ignition sensor bolt down was lose. Few minor repairs and I will try it again this weekend.

How did you make the panel-lines on the wing?
I believe you have the green nav-light on the wrong side, btw :-)

I have this model. I put a Saito twin 182 in mine with an 16" x 8" 3 blade prop. It flies very scale like, not alot of extra power. This coming year I am going to try a 2 blade to see if it makes more power.

Yes, you are correct. I had them on the correct side during the first stage. RNR... attention to detail. LOL. A culb memeber pointed it out to me. On the bench for fix.

Default RE: ????

Guys,

I'm finishing building my Skylane 182 with a Zenoah 26EI.

I notice the rudder linkage is pretty poor and doesn't allow the rudder to return properly to the center. I saw on the thread a solution involving inverting the servo arm. I'm wondering if it´s working fine or if there are other approaches I could try.

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: Heads Up-Rudder Correction

Hello dmyers0403

I am doing mine the same as you did on your tail, but I have a question and is why did you glued the rudder last and not after installing rudder torque rod?, as see on pictures and in the same model, there should not be any problem but I think you have a very good reason of doing what you mention when assembly the tail components.

What could be the problem if installing the rudder after rudder torque rod was installed and glued, then install the elevators?

Any way, yours is a great idea so I am almost finish with the rudder.

Thanks, Isaias

The angle of the torque rod on the rudder is a difficult task. I glued the rudder in last because of geometry. I wanted the ability to adjust the angle and prevent binding as much as possible while achieving as close fit as possible. I was able to achieve this. There is very little binding. My G-38 works beautiful; it is a tight fit in the cowl. Word of caution if you chose this combination. Beef up the motor mount area. I almost lost mine due to mount fatigue!

Would an O.S. 1.20AX power this big bird decently?

I would think a good 120 would get it off the ground with an extended roll out, but it would not preform at best. There would be no margin for power. It glides very well, as my last landing was dead stick mid field. I recommend at least a 180.
