Hey there fellow flyers ,gotta few ?'s for ya. I've got a magnum .30 4* on a tequila .25 and the only way to keep her in the air is at 3/4 to full power, and it still lags
Are these engines typically this slow on a 9x5? This engine is definatly not for the tequila!!
My main question is this- Would my magnum be a good choice for the skycutter .20 (from flyingthingz.com) or would it still be a dog on this too
does anyboddy have experiance with the skycuter .20??
What plane would be a good choice for this engine?---I'm turning about 9800 to 10,200 rpm with a 9x5 wood prop.
thanx guys!!

It is not the engine it is the plane. The plane is a lead plated brick. Mine with a FSR .25 flew like manure. I had micro servos and as light a Rx battrery as I could get away with. You add the weight of the 4s and you are right, it will not fly at low throttle.

P.S. I do not know about the other plane. What is the weight and wing area?

Hey Tailskid Very interesting that you lived here ,was it right here in fairmont? anyways no to your answer,I guess the last club in my area was awhile ago, named "Elm creek flyers club". I never got to see any of them, but here just recently I heard of a guy who used to belong the local club and he still has the frequency board from the club, we have been told to get together by our wives and start up a new club ,I know about 5 guys with planes now,I'm pretty much responsible for their getting into this hobby.
Right now I,m an official member "Country Road Flyer's Club"
In other words I'm not with any flying field or club,But have a great spot. I am tottaly self taught and have just graduated to my first 50 cc gasser
I'm rambling
seeya!!

Yep, it was the Elm Creek Flyers....we started that club and flew from a farmer's field (Leonard Wendt's) during the summer and at the airport during the 'snow season' :-)
I lived in Northrop....check out the hardware store in Welcome, the owner used to be in our club. Also the CEO of the radio station (Woodie?) used to fly with us. At one time we had about 25 members!!!!! Also Jeff Silker (Photography business) was in theclub....

C&B It is not that the 25 wont pull it, it is that the wing loading is so high that it snaps all the time, has a landing speed of Mach 3 and is just no fun to fly.
