Who has done this and how difficult is it?
Do i just epoxy it to the aluminum tube that is there?
I just recieved my new horizontial stabs and elevators....
The ones that came with the plane weren't double beveled....so i ordered another set to bevel them cause the ones i had the hinges had already been glued in and i didn't want to mess nothing up......
low and behold the new ones were already beveled!!!!
GOod job lanier!
but now how do i go about glueing them on......i had the old ones bolted on and i see where its almost a rule now to glue them on so....since size is not a problem for hauling around i can just glue them on now.....
any ideas would be very help full!!!

Mount the elevator surfaces and make sure they are 0 with an incidence meter. Then mark the fuse and cut off the covering. Apply epoxy to the tube, and the ends of the elevator surfaces. I used clamps to hold mine on while it dried. Use 30 min. to allow plenty of time to clamp/check that they are 0.
Mine are rock solid (well not really mine. I sold the plane to a flying buddy, but HIS are rock solid after several flights and many bumps along the way......)

Why glue it on? My kit came with double beveled stabs and the only thing I had to do was puddle a little CA into one side of the fuselage socket so the stab tube would sit level with the wing tube then bolt them on. After two months of flying with gas engine, everything is still tight and no extra weight of the epoxy.
