You guys that have bought the new version of this plane, can you tell me if they still used the hot melt type glue on it? I had one of the older versions and I'm thinking of getting another one because it was such a good flying plane. I might still get one even if they still use the hot melt type glue (just because it is such a good flyer), but If I knew they use a better glue now, I'd probably get one for sure.
Thanks, Jim
Malin, I had a YS 140L on my old one and that pulled the plane around very well. Maybe that will tell you something about whether the Moki is a good engine for this plane or not.

Hmmm
I must have me of these new version Pitts!!I especially like the 2B pitts most of all.I love the blue & white color, different than the typical red you always see.For those that have already bought one ,is the blue like a metallic color or more like a royal or what? Also it says on the site that it comes with an aluminum spinner yet, I saw one guy mention that it had a matched painted spinner?Do the ailerons use 2 or 4 servos?
thanks in advance -Steve

The blue is not metalic. The spinner is painted to match the blue and I believe is aluminum. Ailerons require 4 servos, one for each both top and bottom. I'm putting the Zenoah G26 in mine but mine has been converted to EI and lightened to about 2.5 lbs without battery and muffler.

The elevator uses two servos. I'm going to use Hitec 5645 digitals all around. I saw a picture of the red and it is the same scheme as the previous red Pitts which is not the same as the blue. I got the blue because it is different but that red sure looks nice too!

Actually, the elevator only uses one servo if you build it as per the instructions. The other cut-out is supposed to be for the rudder. I am going to use two elevator servos on mine though, and will put a pull-pull system on the rudder with the servo in the fuselage. And yes, the red scheme is the same as the old cermark pitts.

((((((((WARNING))))))))) Check the nuts on the ca bane struts! Friend lost his last Saturday.Nut come off changing incidence on the wings. Could not gain control. It was the eight or ninth flight. He has been flying over 40 years. it flew great with a 140 L.The nuts are inside and hard to get at. Cermark, has not been cooperating with him as of this post. Butch.

I just opened mine today and have a few questions?
Did anyone mount the wing servo's diffrently then the way they say to?
Did everyong use the wedge on the enging mount for the right thrust?
I was planning on using Standard Airtronics servos for the ailerons rated at 41oz/in the directions call for 42 does anyone think this is ok?
I plan on using a MOKI 1.35 and was wondering if i need to beef up the firewall does anyone have any sugestions?
and last but not least. does anyone have any pic's of theirs completed that i could see.
Thank you in advance

I've got a question also, for the fellow who has the original and the new model; Can the new Aluminum interplane struts be used on the original? I have one of the originals, still not built. If Cermark sell these as parts, I might be able to "upgrade".
Thanks,

I have one more question. Has anyone mounted an enging sideways on this plane or is everyone mounting them inverted? my Moki is set up for a sideways mount and was wondering if it would hurt just to mount straight to the firewall and not worry about the diffrence between the sideways and inverted differences.
Thanks

3rd season on the original red one and going strong after some mods one of which was to make new end struts out of two layers of lite ply, glued together and covered with Ultracote.Wouldn't Arts scheme look good on this Pitts and be a nice tribute. Hint Cermark.

Well I test flew the Pitts on Saturday and i have to say this thing is awsome and i mean awsome!!!!!!!!! It holds a rail like no other plane I have ever flown. I have a Moki 1.35 and it pulls it great, vertical is unlimited at 3/4 throttle and this plane loves it. I have the throws a little higher than what the book calls for but it did'nt matter a bit. landing is a whole different expierience compared to other planes without two wings. it takes keeping power all the way to the ground and cutting it at the last minute. but boy does it look pretty!!!! This thing snap rolls like no mans buisness and loops are great. OH did i mention it fly's on rails just like a train (STRAIGHT).
Just thought everyone might like to know.

Been shopping around for a sale. Is $299 a good sale price on the Pitts? I'm almost positive this is the same one;
