Squeak HH did the same to me. It was on a Sundowner and had a part failure that caused loss of plane. The sent the part that failed (and a note not to use as the manuel pic shows and says)but would and will not replace the plane. I have ragged about it on the forums alot and sent probabaly 10 -15 e-mails to HH about the part. It was a part that had to be installed on the motor to keep everything in cowl. After my prediciment and others they started sending a note in the part bag stating not to be used as previously said. And says to use a different muffler. Thing is the muffler they recommend to use now does not fit the part. This was a big deal for me, as i lost a 80" Sundowner because of a part they knew would and was failing. If not then they would not have started sending out the note with this part. But still recommend this part to be used and now it won't fit the muffler they are NOW recommending. The stock muffler you just are supposed to throw away i guess. This is how HH has become. Them not honoring there b/o products is no surprise to me. And man i had also sent them E-Mails about how good there customer service had been. You just never know.

I see that I'm not the only person thats been screwed, glued and tatooed. I know prices are GOING UP due to inflation (the correct word is GREED) and will continue to the end of time.
But, there's a word that I believe in and only afew people in the world even knows that it exists and the word is, "Integrity".
Integrity means keeping your word, being faithful to your commitments, doing an honest day's work, not doing in the dark what you would never be caught doing in the light. It means being true to yourself and honest with others, being genuine, authentic, trustworthy and loyal.
The point was not the price, but the faithfulness in the commitment.
If I ordered one today, the price would be $279.99 with no issue , but it was $199.99 when the order was placed by Horizon salesman.
I hate to hear about everyones experience too, but if we keep silence, this problem will continue and spread. But, reality, the complaint to Horizon was pointless, they just lost a customer, small fish in a ocean.
One company that I've been a member and ordered from for MANY YEARS and its TOWER HOBBIES. They have specials all the time and its like Walmart, if they ain't got it, you don't need it. They have been friendly, and if you don't like the product, return for a full refund.

I have only had one Hangar 9 plane, a Twist 40 a long time ago and it was $99 (list was $119, but the LHS sold things cheap) when I bought it. Now, its listed on Horizon Hobby for $179.99, which in my mind is absolutely ridiculous.
Seeing as I just wrecked a plane and I am now in the market for an ARF, I was shopping earlier on HorizonHobby.com to see what they had, and I will not be buying a Hanger 9 plane at those prices. I don't know of many people who will pay some of the prices they are listing for their planes. I will not buy a Hanger 9 ARF unless the prices go down.
Regarding the 4*60 price, its listed as an ARF for $214 on tower, and the pulse XT60 is $249 on HH. I would be more willing to buy a 4*60 at that price considering that sig's kits are usually anywhere from cheap to reasonably priced and their ARFs are (at least to me) a little bit expensive, but I know how heavily built they are so $214 for a 4*60 ARF is not bad if you think about how much you have into it in kit form.

Horizon Is insane, I purchased the Hangar-9 SU-26 one month ago at $799.00 and today it is $999.00. I thought gas prices jumped at incredible rates, this is absurd. Today my father went to Horizon to buy a H9 Funtana and the priced jumped $100.00 overnight, needless to say he shopped around and found it at the original price. There are plenty of companies out there that have H9 planes instock and they're not raising the prices. Do your self a favor, look around, you might save a couple hundred dollars.

Graves RC often buys older models that manufacturers no longer want in their inventories, or from companies that have gone out of business. Sometimes, you may find a bargain on their site, and get something that's quite viable that will perform just about as well as today's equipment for 1/3 the price. You may end up with 3 year old technology, but it's still not going to be obsolete.
By the way, I checked Horizon's price for their Alpha Trainer 40 ARF. It doesn't come with anything. No engine, no radio, no servos, nothing but the airframe. It's $179.95! How long is Tower going to have their Superstars and Eagles available for $109.95? The Alpha isn't going to make much sense until Tower's offerings start to catch up. Is this just a matter of time, or is Tower going to try to remain competitive?

I have bough verry little from horizon mostly a few e-flite's, but I was always like wow " tower has better prices and coupons that make me think hangar 9 planes are expensive".
But now the prices are just out of control, even tower raside their prices but not to horizon rates, the little electric extra 260 is $160 wow. Sundowner 50 ARF $260 OMG I can get a Great planes revolver for about $100 less SHIPPED.
I think this is really bad fro horizon but a great oportunity for tower and otheres, I am sure Horizon sales will drop because of this. They are going to have to stock up in some CMP kits

Tower has raised their prices at least twice, maybe 3 times since October of 2007. That's when I bought a kit for $70.00 (it wasn't on sale, either) that now sells for $90.00 (as of this writing). About 3 months prior, that same plane was $49.95, on sale. It has now almost doubled over slightly more than a year! I'm beginning to believe that the days of cheap ARFS, kits, and Chinese imports are starting to come to an end. Remember when gas was a buck a gallon?

If all rc outlets did what Horizon did it would really thin the rc crowd down, not really good for the hobby. Not everyone can afford a full scale aircraft....only the well to do older folks in a well paying profession. The same could happen in the rc world if Towers, CMP, Nitromodels and others raise their prices to reach orbit, only an older elite crowd will be able to afford it leaving high school aged kids and the like searching for a new hobby. MPO is that Horizon raised their prices too suddenly and too high. It may well bring rc model kit building back to the forefront. If that should happen....watch ARF prices fall like snow!![8D]

i hoard balsa and kits. i also buy an occasional 2nd hand arf if it's a good deal. therefore, between , kit, scratch or plans building and someone's firesale priced 2nd hand plane i could care less what HH or Tower does. the lure of quick flying coupled with cheap prices seems to be no more.

I know they get a lot of bad press, but I've bought 2 nitro planes, both have been great. The instruction manuals suck, but with a little extra work (strengthening some joints etc) they are a great bargain. Haven't seen a big price increase yet. But there shipping charges are sometimes absurd.

I just checked Chief Aircraft for the pawnee. Their price is up to 279.99 as well. That's freaking crazy!!!! I guess I'm not getting one.

The ones that got them for the old price are lucky. I just talked with HH customer service about the pawnee. I've had one on B/O through my local LHS since March, but they said tough, it's the new price or nothing. Glad I got my Pulse 60 when they first hit. Hello, Nitromodels, here I come.

WOW !! [X(] I just went to Horizon to see what all the fuss was about!!! I just bought the Pawnee 40 in May at my local hobby for $189.00 before a 10% club discount. My Sopwith is now $339 ??!! This is like a new 401K !!
I've got seven Hangar 9 kits stashed and now I have a good defense when the wife ask's why.
Looks like no more ordering from Horizon.[:'(] I've recently purchased Seagull Arf's and was very surprised with the quality. There are others besides Hangar 9 and I think they're better.
As someone mentioned earlier, check out Graves RC. Great service and selection. I'm also pleased with Nitro Hobbys.
Horizon price increases, in my opinion, is greed. I can see small price increases but 50% is nuts[>:]!

all of the retailers will increase prices, this seems to be more of a TRASH HORIZON thread...maybe by someone who has a vested interest or a competitor????
I have bought many items from Horizon and I feel they are a great company and have great customer service. People who think Tower (fill in your hobby shop name here) will not increase their prices are dreaming.
