Well ihave a Showtime with a Saito 91, and an AW edge with a saito 100 which will maiden within the next week. I also have a Venus 40 with the 46ax, never flown it, but sorta lost interest in it. Ionce had a Pulse XT which I loved....and would like ot find something similar in characteristics for easy sport flying with some aerobatics....and cheap. Just something easy to kick around with. Does anyone know how it compares to the Pulse? The Pulse was GREAT!!!! it also had a little dyhedral.

If you loved your Pulse XT, I can't imagine why you aren't tearing up the skies with your Venus .40/ .46AX combo. That would be a lot of fun!

Well after almost 2 weeks of emails i still have heard nothing from Great Planes. I've sent them pictures and copy's of bill's and still have not had a reply. I'm hoping the holiday is slowing things down for GP. []

You should give them a phone call instead of email. When I thought I had an issue with one of my wings, they sent me a replacement right away. I was very impressed with their response. See post #101.

Thanks guys. I received a response today. They said they did not receive any emails from me. Not sure what could have happened but no matter, I sent a nice reply with the pictures so hopefully will hear back tomorrow. Will let you know.

Last weekend I was playing around with some in-flight video using my Escapade.

Hey Guys

I finally got ahold of one of these in demand arfs.  I've read through some of the forum here and it sounds like there's an issue with the stab/fin assembly and many of you have just epoxied it on instead of the bolt on method (which is how I will probably do it as well).

Are there any other issues or fixes that should be done?

Just started putting together my second Escapade.I lost mine in an orentation white out with a gray sky and took it into the ground wide open. It was not a pretty sight. After flying this plane more than 100 times. I will definately reinforce the landing gear area. I did that with the other plane and after picking through the wreckage was impressed with the landing gear box, so I will do the same with this one. Definately epoxy on the tail section, use the bolts to pull it nicely together. Drill some small holes on the under side of the elevator where the control wire goes into it and wick in some CA. Epoxy the wing halves together. I added two dowels to the front of the wing to index into the wing pocket just to add some rigidity in the wing to fuse area, the stock tab on the front of the wing didnt seem adequit to me. I also added a cross brace to the front of the fuse under the engine to stop the excessive vibration of the fuse tabs when the engine is running wide open. I have an OS 55ax in mine and really run this plane hard, but its one of my favorites. Got another one in stock just waiting for the next time.

I got a chance to fly the Escapade again yesterday. I moved my CG back to 3 1/4" from the leading edge, and I thinkit flies ALOT better. I was able to 3 point land every time (they seemed alot easier too), and everything felt much snappier like I expected. I also tried a 11 x7 prop on my OS .46, and didn't like it. Iputthe 11 x 6 back on, and I think itis the perfectprop for this engine/plane. I amable to slow waaay down for landings, and have almost unlimited verticle.

Just got my escapade the other day. Took it out of the box tonight to look at it. Engine mount is way off to the left? Anyone else have his or hers like this. I'm guessing since it is one of those GP adjustable ones that the people on the assembly line just tightened it down wrong.

Yes mine was about the same! It has good adjustment in it and had to loosen them up to mount the OS 46 AX in it anyway. You are going to love this airplane!  Follow this tread on things you need to do and there will not be any problems, Have fun! Bob

It's been a while since I built my Escapade but I think the firewall has thrust offset built into it so that could be the reason the engine mount looks offset.

It is mounted correctly for the engine thrust just open it to fit your engine and bolt on!!!

Mine is the same as yours. I am installing an Italian ST 46 and it is a narrow engine. Ifa wide engine is installed then the adjustable mount wouldbe spread farther apart to the right and the engine would be centered rather than to the left as my super tigre is.

Test Flew the Escapade on Wednesday. It went well, flies pretty good. I had to add 2 1/2 oz to the nose. After the 1st flight I took a 1 1/2 oz out and it seemed to fly better. I should have put a Sullivan Tailwheel on it. That thin wire one it comes with is junk. it was bent beyond repair after the 3rd flight. I am sure it is okay for hard surfaces, but our grass field is a bit rough. I have my rudder throw maxed out, it will not hold knife-edge. Flys basic acro and Inverted very well, and slows down nice for landing. Overall I am happy with it for the $99.

Thanks for the report!I had read where the rear wheel assembly was junk so I put a Dubro on mine right away. For a hundred bucks it is a Great plane! I did make sure everything was glued good and didepoxy my wing haves together. Thanks Bob
