I have installed a Saito 82a on a Funtana 50 and now installing a prop. I realize that the prop doesnt fit properly and the hole in prop needs to be opened up. Can someone please tell me which drill bit size i need. I dont want to take the plane inside home depot
thanks in advance.

Tim

It's 7mm but you'd be better off to get a prop reamer from the hobby shop. I think they go from 7mm to 10mm so you'll have a reamer for all your props. Also you don't want to drill them, it's better to ream them. Reason being is that a drill bit will grab the plastic and dig too quickly and you won't end up with a very good hole.

I believe it says the shaft diameter is 7mm and the above reamer will do the job. Please do not use a drill

From: Center of the Flyover States,
Using a regular drill may/will cause the resulting hole to be off-center thereby probably ruining the prop!!!!!!
Now I have taken the T bar out of a reamer and inserted the main part of the reamer in my variable speed drill and used it very slowly. I'm lazy that way.......

I ream all of mine in my drill press, that way they're nice and square.

If reaming,do you float the reamer through,or is the prop clamped/indicated in your mill vice or table?
Also what clearance do you shoot for between the stud, and prop hub?
I’ve read that you keep a bunch of pictures,do you have, or can you take some picture of your mill setup?
Thanks.
