I was flying my Lanier Cap 232 80" and the canopy came off in mid flight. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with mine. I had to purchase another one from Lanier and this time I used 3/16 ply and 3 bolts per side to attach the canopy. I also used some sylicone under the canopy plastic and used small screws to attach it to the frame so no air could get under the plastic. If you use a pilot figure, make sure you put some 1/32 or 1/16 inch ply under the pilot area.

I have tried to post pictures on this forum and have been unsuccesfull. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I've been using a cheep digital camera that uses a bitmap format. I just cant get it to post. Let me know if you know how to post pictures.

Steve, Try saving the pictures in .jpg or .jpeg format. The compression is much greater and is the default displayable format here on RCU. Try emailing a moderator or email the pics to me, and I will convert them and post for you.

What do you guys think about the quality and how does it fly. Any tips or tricks when putting it together? I am thinking about putting a 3.2 Fox on one. Is it built heavy enough for it or will I need to beef it up?
Thanks,
JB
