Is the right and down thrust built into the firewall or do you have to put it in? And if you do how?

Because of the airfoil used and the nature of this model, you really don't need to concern yourself about having right thrust or down thrust. A little down thrust wouldn't hurt and neither would right thrust, but I doubt you will notice its absence if there isn't any there at all.

I've flown my H9 US40 all season. I'm usually not that active of an RC pilot but I've got something around 50 flights on mine over the past 8 or 9 weeks. In short, I'm luvin' this airplane. It is my 2nd model after my LT-40 trainer.
I was somewhat leary of flying an airplane without the inherent stability of a trainer but, after a nervous first few flights (and a small bit of trimming) it grooves very nicely. As others have said, it is a great wind airplane and I'm gaining a LOT of confidence in a hurry by not waiting for those calm conditions. My fellow club members have commented they've seen the improvement of my flying.
I fly mine with the 4 servo wing configuration and power it with the Saito .62 four-stroke. APC 12-7 prop. Stock fuel tank and LG. A JR X9303 2.4Ghz radio does the guidance.
Mine is apparently one of the earlier runs with the non-counterbalanced rudder. I have the white/yellow/blue version. Only real problem is the covering seams are starting to lift.
The Ultra Stick isn't a perfect airplane but it's one of the best sport utility models (SUM?) ever produced. And I luv that whistle they make when cruising at high speed on the downlines. Sounds like a turbo whine and very noticeable with the quieter four-stroke.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine.

Well, I finished it the day before yesterday and I got a pilot that will maiden it. Going to try the day after tomorrow. Ive heard that most people's Ultra Sticks are noze heavy but mine was tail heavy[sm=50_50.gif]. I put my reciever battery against the back of the fuel tank and moved the engine all the way out on the mount and put a nose cone with an aluminum backplate and it still needed 3 oz. and might still need a 1/2 oz. more.[sm=50_50.gif]

First flight today. It went well except for some engine problems. Gregg (Gputt33) took it up and got it trimmed out and then gave it to me and I flew it alittle and then he took it back to land. My hands are still shaking
. You were all right, I love it! Here is some pics.

I could never get comfortable with the flaps, so I cut them off and put the full ailerons back on. Its got a great roll rate now on high.

On my JR X9303, I have a switch which instantly changes from the half-aileron/flap mode to full span ailerons so, I get the best of both worlds. That switch also enables my flap->elevator mixing. Man, will this thing really do tight loops by coupling flaps!
