Sorry, I meant after its on the ground. Because when that engine was in my trainer even when I landed it on one end of the runway it would still run off the other end before it slowed down enough to turn around.

I have the Mini Ultra Stick, and would love to up to either the .25 or .40 size. Keep us posted on your progress, and what you think after flying it.

Do you fly off of asphalt? If so, then it might keep rolling. It all depends on how high you've set your idle and your groundspeed when you touch down. A slow landing with a low idle will mean not too long of a roll-out. But hey, this plane is so low that once you get down you can start wagging the tail back and forth and then kick that thing hard one way to swing it around and get it coming back towards you.

Be careful with the stock fuel tank, I had one fail on a 60, soaked my RX in flight and corkscrewed into the ground.
I would suggest using a dubro stopper with the H9 tank. The H9 supplied one I had was made from fairly hard rubber and would loosen if not checked every month or so.
Maybe I'm the only guy who had this problem, but I forgot to check it and my flight ended within 30 seconds of TO.
I have had the 60, 120 and 120 lite. The 60 is very light and performs great, the early 120 was a brick for sure. The 120 lite is a fantastic performer.

I meant do you think it would be more like the 60 or the 1.20 in flight. Just curious. If you don't know it's all right, I'll find out in a few weeks anyway.

As mentioned before in another thread, it does nothing to cure flutter. Flutter occurs with loose hinges or hinges that are not installed properly, not by the gap.
The gap sealing prevents the differential in pressure allowing air to pass through the gap from the lower side to the higher pressure upper side of the ailerons thus making the ailerons more effective.
See: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6162543/tm.htm
and read on down a bit. This is all covered in pretty good detail.

Thanks, plcline67.
multicasting, I'm using a Master Airscrew 11x7 and I've used a Top Flight 11x6 and 11x4 or 5. And it does that with all of them. I'm not sure if there was much difference(its beeen too long since I used them)

On my US 40, I used the 12.25X3.75 prop. Top speed suffered. But I got great aceleration and with such a flat pitch, roll out was very short. I could easily take off in a few feet and continue aceleration while going stright up.

This is my second summer with mine. I have an O.S.46AX on mine, and I love it. I put a Bisson muffler on, and cut down the aluminum mount, and used a Top Flite 11 x 6 to get it to balance properly. I could never get comfortable with the flaps, so I cut them off and put the full ailerons back on. Its got a great roll rate now on high. I had to re-do the gear mounting inside the fuselage this spring. Some ply in some strategic places, and all was good again, you would never know it was repaired.

Ship said it. It is an APC. I should own stock. I have had about a dozen of these props. I am mounting one on a piped Rossi 40 very soon. The hub is very thin, so som engines will need the washer if you intent to use a hub nut.

You will enjoy this plane a lot. I started with one. I sold mine (the red and white colour scheme) - sad I did that. Was a nice fun flying plane which you could really do a lot with. Glides very well, short approaches are a breeze and you can really slow it down for a landing.
The only problem I ever had with it was that the landing gears screws came loose during a flight. I only knew what the noise was after I've landed it with the half loose landing gear which was hanging on for dear life.
Fly the plane and have loads of fun with it. Mine was set up with flaps - only used them once to play around with. One thing I regret which I never did with the plane was trying out the dual ailerons.
It's reall value for money this plane and as soon as I can afford one again I'll get it.
P.S. I know someone who once told me on a windy day he deploys the flaps in mid air and basically the plane will just hang there.

Yup...and in high wind you can do rolling harriers in place as well as reverse-landings and backwards-rolling take-offs. Ultra Stick's are AWESOME in the wind!!

Update on progress. When I got up this morning it was on the doorstep and I started working on it right away. Except the thin CA and servos didn't come yet[&o] so I can't do much work on it. But they should come today.[sm=cool.gif] Almost no bubbles or rinckles in the covering and nothing was missing. The bow had some damage but the plane had none. I can't wait to fly it. How long does it take to build it? Sorry I don't have any pics yet but I'll try to at least get one after its finished.

I just sent for an Ultra Stick 40 that should come the end of next week and I just wondered if there's anything I should know before I get it. I'm going to use standard ailerons.

Which version did you buy? Great Planes? Horizon Hobby? Chinese?
Having had a bunch of Horizon Hobby versions, and liking them, I'm now going through the Great Planes and Chinese variants, and liking them. Especially the Giant Big Stik. Talk about easy to assemble, fit with an engine and easy to fly - the Giant Big Stik does it all.

Did any of you have a problem with the center of the elevater hitting the tailwheel bushing even after cutting a slot in the center of the elevater? If so, how did you fix it? Mine is hitting on it and I cut a big slot in the elevater and I still can't get it to deflect to the recomended high rates(38degrees). also wondering if it would work to just cut it in half and glue it back together with a piece of wire.
